Last night I had a dream that I woke up in my airplane having fallen asleep in flight and inadvertently flown into Mexico when I was supposed to be in WI. On another occasion I had a dream that a tornado formed in front of me, as I got close a wing abruptly dropped and I woke up.

Yea, have a recurring dream about trying to land my plane at a towered field but then going around while still on approach. Next thing I know my batteries are dead and I land my plane on the grass…which is now an R/C plane. I keep trying to take it off, so I can radio from the air that I had to go around.

no but I had a dream that I ate a shrimp salad dish with blue shrimp in it.

once you fly a mooney there isn't really much else to dream about aviation wise. maybe dream of having kaiser money for jet purchases, but otherwise not really.

When I was four, I had my tonsils removed. When they were ready to put me under, the doctor asked me what I would like to dream about. I said airplanes. I did. I don't remember much from when I was four, but I do remember that.

Had airplane dreams? Yes. Weird airplane dreams? I won’t say no, only not yet! (It’s kinda like emergencies. You’ve never experienced one…until you do!)

except the ability to reposition my legs I suppose. :P
I fly an Ercoupe - and the ability to effectively reposition legs is, indeed, a dream. Even more so with a passenger on board.

Yes, I definitely have weird flying dreams. Often enough to inspire me to create this poll a few years ago!

The worst of all dreams... I dream I am being forced to be an air traffic controller...

Never had a dream about my airplane but, true story, I once did fall asleep in my plane.

It wasn't flying - I was on the backseat cleaning and the backseat is so freaking comfy - I snoozed off, woke up almost two hours later and only because my wife called me asking where I was lol. To be fair, it was a long day and early morning start for me that day.

I've had recurring dreams in which I find myself in a Charlie, and I'm desperately trying to mitigate the damage, trying to find a way out so I won't get caught. Also, I take off, and I'm immediately surrounded by towers and high-line wires and desperately trying to find a way through. Sometimes both scenarios happen within the same dream. I usually wake up in a sweat - and needing to pee.

I'm pretty sure I've had a few more since this one:

I have a dream that high wing pilots and low wing pilots will join hands and be judged for the content of their logbooks, not the position of their wings.

Just kidding. Low wings rule, high wings drool.

Actually, for the first couple years I flew i had dreams about crashing. Haven't had that for a few years now.

When I was 16, I had dengue fever. If you don't know what dengue fever is, it is a mosquito transmitted illness common in tropical Caribbean islands that causes hallucinations. I actually thought I was a helicopter being assembled. I don't know where the 'wop wop wop' sounds came from but I suspect the assembly process was me thrashing about the bed.

I don't recommend dengue fever. Even if you actually do like helicopters.

I had a dream last night that I was on the ground in a Baron.

Problem was I could not figure out how to get to the runway, or even remember the CTAF. I taxied through the big hanger hoping to find the runway on the other side, but nope. Then I went down the line of hangars, all 6 of them, hoping to find the runway at the other end. Nope.

I must have finally gave up since I woke up and was still in bed.

I used to dream I could fly. Without a plane. I would get running fast, dive forward, and kind of swoop along in ground effect.

When I got my license, that stopped.

I had a dream in which I was in a spin while in hard IMC, with a partial panel. I recall trying to use the turn-coordinator to make the right inputs. I woke up before I hit the ground, so I'm choosing to believe that dream-me pulled it off and flew out of that one.

Same. Sometimes jumping off a roof or other low structure. Every since I was little, at minimum a couple times a month. I haven't had one since I started PPL training.

I had a weird airplane dream last week where I was flying in Colombia and trying to land near Bogota, but couldn't. There were mountains blocking both ends of the runway, so I just kept zipping past the runway at like 100 AGL side to side.
And in the dream I never checked the backseats, but I bet if I had looked in the back I would have seen several hundred kilograms of colombian nose candy. IDK why else I would have been flying there so frantically! (I've never been to Colombia so it was weird my dream centered on that specific place).

I dreamt, I figured out a new way to flap your arms – and I could fly. Until my arms got tired – then I fell.

Falling, like Icarus with melted wings
Nauga, probably

The night before my ppl checkride I dreamed that I was already on my ride and passed. When the alarm went off and I realized what I actually had still before me,I may or may not have muttered a few words under my breath.Talk about a high to a low lol
FWIW I did pass,for real.

I dream about plane crashes a lot. Usually I am witnessing them from afar and never am I upset about them in the dream. "Yep, that ones going down"

I remember a few dreams before I became a pilot (before I even thought about becoming a pilot) where the plane was kept in a field and I was flying it from the right seat. Weird.

Airplane dreams? No.

But...

Actually, I had that dream my first semester of freshman year. I was taking 19 hours of classes and thought there was another one I was missing. (I don't know if I would have had room on my schedule for that one, anyway.) I checked my schedule when I woke up, and I was OK.

Can't say that I actually had a weird airplane dream, but I though I was having one once.
Turns out I was watching Horizon Line where a woman was wasting perfectly good 'shine by pouring it in the leaking gas tank of a Cessna 208 (I think) in-flight. And it worked.

It's actually kind of a funny movie, if you can turn off your pilot brain, and perhaps have a few drinks first.

I don’t remember if I voted in that poll but I’ve had that dream, too.

ALL my dreams are weird.

I dream of flying often.

Prolly oughta leave it right here…

Flying along a road at a few feet AGL - often hilly - looking for a gap in the overhead wires / trees big enough to climb through.

You aren't the only one.

I have many times dreamed that I took off from a controlled airport without saying a word--and in my dream I am frantically trying to come up with some excuse.

I never had a weird airplane dream but a few years ago, a Spacex was launched from Vandenberg at night and it crossed over the house. I watched it, laying on the driveway. It was eerie. You could see the bright flame plume tracking across the sky from south to north. Yes, a weird orbit, not common. I had dreams about that for a long time.

I've definitely had that one a few times.

Also have a recurring one where I can't find my clothes to get dressed to go to work. It's always a corporate flying gig that I'm worried I'll be late for - never an airline.
