Old James Bond Film Demonstrates the Threat of GA

So, I just watched Goldfinger for the first time since I was a kid (1964 film). Spoiler alert, stop reading if you don't want to know. The Chinese pay Goldfinger to dirty bomb Fort Knox to contaminate the U.S. Gold supply. Goldfinger's chief pilot (P***y Galore) and her Flying Circus use...

Skiing is getting to be almost as expensive as flying

I didn't buy my usual pass this year (I only ended up with a couple of days last year, with my travel and the lack of snow), so I stepped up to the window and handed them my credit card. $130 for a day :hairraise: not even a student discount for my son who is in college. This was at Northstar.

    Electric Trim on Arrow II

I am going into pre-buy on an Arrow II and the electric trim doesn't work. The owner says the motor works, but there is something wrong with the clutch. I know it is hard to judge, but what could be the range on what it would take to fix this?

    Plane for the mission?

Now that my plane is pretty much sold, I need to think about my next one. Here is my mission. Obviously there are a lot of options, but it seems, due to my budget, getting everything might be tough. The budget is about $50K.

    Preferred type of communication

So, it seems every time communication methods evolve, a few people talk about how rude the new method is. My grandma said it was rude to call in a thank you. You have to send a hand written letter. Now days, you are lucky to get a text or email. Clearly this poll is too simple, as each type...

My Cherokee is up for sale. It has been a great plane for logging hours and traveling throughout CA, but I am now looking for something I can fly into the mountains to visit my dad on occasion (over 200 hp) and go to Tucson to visit my GF's family. I have had this plane for just over 3 years...

    So much for flying today

I am in Galax, VA for business and had a few hours to spare today, so I stopped by the local field. The whole field was taken over by people flying toy jets FOR THREE DAYS. The flight school was completely locked up. Who shuts down their field for three days so hobbiests can fly their toys?

    Hypothetically, do spaceships fly?

Ok, so I am reading a sci fi novel and the author refers to the pilot "flying" the ship. So, this is deep space, not taking off from a planet. Is that flying, or would it be falling or traveling or something like that?
