Good evening,

Looking to see what are the rental rates(range) in your area, instructor hourly rate.

Georgia

Range:

Airplane: $ wet rate/ hourly
Cessna: 172- $180-$250
Pa-28 : $150-$195
Diamond: $160-225
Instructor rates (hourly) : $40-$100

Cessna 310: $400-$450
Instructor rates(hourly):$60-$100

Multi add on package: $4200-$15,000

single engine dry rates: $65-$130

North Alabama
Cessna 172- just increased to $185/hr
Instructor- $65

SE Massachusetts
Cessna 172 - $161 wet
Instructor $70

East side of Atlanta we rent our 172N with 2 G5s, GNS530W, GTX345 and GMA345 at $140/hr wet for training. Instruction $75/hr. Redbird BATD simulator $70/hr.

Dallas area is a mixed bag. I've seen Cessna 150s renting for as little as $45 per hour dry to Cessna 172 renting for as much as $180+ per hour wet. I have seen instructors charging as little as $50 per hour all the way to $100 per hour. For me personally, I have my own plane so rarely rent but when I do, I rent my instructor's Piper Cherokee for $155 wet and she charges me $75 per hour for advanced (instrument) instruction.

Tampa/Sarasota area (all rates are hourly wet rates and based on recent word of mouth and personal experience within the past 1-2 years):

6-pack C172: $160-185
TAA C172: $200
6-pack PA28: $150-180
PA28R: $220
SR22T: $500
PA44: $320-350
Instructor: $55-70/hour through a school, less if you hire independent

These comparisons are rather worthless due variables in aircraft age, condition, avionics and experience /quality of the flight instruction / CFI.

Denver KAPA:
C172S 6-pack - $169
C172S G1000 - $200

Instructor $60

This is the member rate at a school/club with a monthly membership fee of $35. Non-members can rent at higher rates.

How so? They point out that all areas are pretty close to the average costs to rent which is a big help IMHO.

A 6 pack 172 is pretty much all the same.
A G1000 172 is pretty much all the same regardless of the location.

Man, I remember when I was renting a 210hp T-41C for $45/hr wet at Peterson AFB Aero Club. About $85/hr in today's dollars. Those rental prices are nuts! I should have flown the daylights out of those aircraft at those prices. Of course, I was a broke bartender at the time, so there's that.

KBED
C182T, G1000Nxi, $299
C182T, G1000, early model, non-WAAS, KAP140, $289
PA28R, Arrow III, G530, no AP, $249

Hartford KHFD - great airport class D
Pa28 $215-235 hobbs
Twin Piper $471 hobbs
Alpha trainer $188
Instruction $75.

Hence I joined a club.

Just north of Cincinnati at HAO:
Ancient 172: (with partial Garmin) $155
'46 Cub: (no electrical system, battery op radio) $100
Instructor: $50 to $55 depending on what training you are receiving
100 LL: over seven bucks! Got a jet center on the field, so ...

How much will you rent that 310 out fer? ;)
I looked into insurance to do that. It was stupid expensive.

I priced the Muskateer to hopefully encourage some new folks to learn to fly. Let's face it, the cost of flying has gotten stupid. Local flight schools are charging $180/ hour for a 172 and $70 for instruction. That is $250/ hour to learn to fly!

The Muskateer rate, plus the renter buying their own fuel (currently less than $4.35 a gallon) means that they are paying on average $110.00 per hour for the plane and the independent instructor is getting $30 or so.

new school in KFLY Colorado is starting an experimental flying club.... he just got a twin and I may put my experimental c172 in it. he is not sure cost of twin yet. ..I figure c172 will be around $55-75/hr wet..... I think you will see more exp clubs pop up, especially for time building.

They were self-insured by US taxpayers. They never had to add that cost to the rental rate. Or the cost of the building. Or the utilities on the building.

I'm in the KABQ area. My local part 61 is $160/hr wet for a C172 and $60 for instruction.

What is an experimental flying club? Does it use experimental aircraft like RVs? I’m not sure that would be legal to rent out.

Connecticut, C-152 $149, C-172 $169, CFI $69

You can do it if it's an equity club, where all the members are part owners of the aircraft.

Wouldn’t that make you part liable too?

One local FBO here rents a 172M or 172N for $180/hr, PA28-180 for $170, and an Arrow at $205. Beech Duchess is $390, Seneca II is $489.

Where in CT, I rent from L2F at KHFD and the are 215-235 for clapped out Cherokees. I'm now at a equity club and just waiting for the new engine in the Archer to get some hours on if before I take it up.

Hello, do you still rent out these airplanes, the Cessna 172 at $140hr wet? If so, how do i get in contact with you?

Actually the rate is $150/hour wet now. The purpose of the plane is mainly for flight instruction. Long weekend trips putting just a few hours on the plane would be a problem but we’re generally ok with local flying. I’ll send you a private message with contact info. Plane is based at Covington KCVC.
