Oshkosh 2025

Anyone else watching the live cams at Oshkosh? Heard to believe how much it will change in a few days, I will arrive hopefully Sunday morning…..

Still planning on Monday morning arrival. Let’s see if weather plays nice

You guys better post lots of pictures for those of us on the outside looking in. Although I'm not as jealous this year because I start multi training saturday morning.

Next year is the plan.

As posted in a thread unrelated to the show, Garmin and ForeFlight have created a couple of aids to those of you flying in:

ForeFlight has added the Fisk arrival to the Aeronautical layer on the map:IMG_1062.PNGIMG_1063.PNGIMG_1064.PNG

And, Garmin has added the Fisk arrival to the 2507 data cycle for use on their navigators as well as to SmartCharts in Garmin Pilot.

I’ll be flying just about 3 hrs Friday am. Any predictions on what a 10 am arrival might be like? Asking for bladder planning.

Land elsewhere and pee first. Keep the last leg into OSH to an hour or less, keeping in mind that the time it takes to fly the Fisk arrival from the Endeavor bridge is 32 minutes. So, somewhere within a half hour of the bridge.

Why? Because if 3 hours is making you concerned about bladder planning, you also need to consider that even if the arrival goes smoothly you may be taxiing for a long time (on a LOT of bumps, just sayin') and then you'll be getting stuff from the greeting crew and tying down the airplane before they'll let you leave to pee. So again, even if everything goes well, it'll probably be a minimum of 1/2 hour after landing before you get to pee.

Have a great flight!

Over under on starting at FISKE or starting at Endeavor Mon morning 10:00?

You're retired, right? Go tomorrow. By Monday, the place is gonna be packed and you'll be walking a mile and a half to get to anything other than parked spam cans. Saturday and Sunday will be extremely busy.

Set up in the campground. A little muddy but the weather is awesome tonight.
A buddy just cooked us the best steaks I've ever eaten hands down, on a piece of crap propane grill,

@eman1200, there's the beef!

Washed it down with a Spotted Cow.

Gotta love Osh...

Belly full. Nighty night.

Pics bro!

They allow personal grills? Hoping to arrive Monday and camp in my car, was trying to figure out cooking without buying some expensive camping stove.

Airplane is all prepped and ready to launch tomorrow. Triple waxed to ward off all those bugs in Illinois corn and soybean fields. Last year I think I gained 10 pounds in bug guts.

Ugly stationary front running East-West across the middle of the country. My plan is to push north to TN or KY tomorrow, then cross the front on Sunday morning. Looks to be beautiful in WI.

We got here yesterday (Thursday) from Maryland. Up to 41 knot head winds. Ground speed as low as 75. Left a 6 EDT, arrived at 1830 CDT. Chicago sent us thru a rainstorm with moderate and continuous turbulence, then 40 miles west of Chicago on IFR flight plan. Weather was gorgeous when we landed. We were exhausted but wouldn’t miss it for the world!
