If I ran for President and made the promise to only vacation/getaway to Camp David or the middle of nowhere how much of the pilot vote would I get?
 
Add on the Jersey City TFR today and the only way south for GA’s is to depart to the north

Flying FRG-PWM tomorrow. Looks like the TFR by FRG is done in a few hours.
 
Not as colorful as last year. Or as far along.
Having lunch in Boothbay Harbor today and over heard the couple at the next table complain: "Dumb trees aren't watching the calender, or something."
 
OMG. The President goes to other cities? What a ****ing amazing revelation.

Perhaps explains the existence of Airforce One? And maybe even Marine One? To take the President to other cities.

There were lots of complaints about Obama from Hawaii flight schools. I don't think the complaining about presidential TFRs is anything new. I seem to remember an article (but can't find it) during the Obama administration where someone in Hawaii with a stake in GA calculated how much money was lost due to his trips and tried to sue the government for it.

I wouldn't say that. I personally think that those affected by long term TFRs like this need to have discussions with their congressmen and bring evidence of the financial impact it has. Most importantly make it a bipartisan. This is not the president or his staff this is the secret service after all.

Well, no they shouldn't. They are security theater, no matter which party is in office. An executive order could make them go away quite nicely. Or they could just have their weekends in Camp David and DC.

We need to do a better job of going past the whining and into action.
 
9/11 and shortly after was understandable. Since then they've multiplied and are ridiculous and 90% are unneeded, maybe 100%. It's the small businesses that suffer, and Trump harped on helping small businesses if we elected him. OK you're elected Mr President. Kill these TFRs! Hoo ra!

Get over it. People complained just as much when it was Bush and then Obama.

I just want someone in the White House to pull the plug on the Twitter.
 
TFRs are not even on the Potus radar.

Phew... problem identified.

No logical solution will ever exist.... unless we find an agoraphobic candidate who will hang out at 1600 Pennsylvania for their entire term. A little unrealistic, given that the campaign process would distress the agoraphobic candidate, almost to the extent of a persecution lawsuit for MAKING the candidate go to the uncomfortable environment of the campaign trail.

Life happens. My sister might have started this thread. Every time something happens that she doesn't like then she thinks what ever happened was done specifically to spite her. Yes, she is a whiny little ******.

It rained here last Friday. I had scheduled to have so movers come and move some heavy furniture for me. It was rescheduled because of the rain. I guess instead I should have gone on some social media and complained about how the (insert any socialist party here) are ruining my life.

I, for one, and glad our nations leaders are protected. Which one of Trumps sons just dropped their secret service protection?
 
Ahhh.... having flown for years in the DC area, welcome to our world. Same as those in Chicago and Delaware for the previous eight years, or Texas or Kennebunk before that.
 
Meh. Just file IFR and you’re good. They’ll even take you VFR with a beacon code. It’s not really that big of a deal even when we had to deal with that 2 week TFR for the UN.

Just eliminate these TFRs. What is the actual real risk to the politician involved?
 
This is exactly what's wrong with Politics here in the United States. Everyone is too busy listening to "Their side" and the rhetoric that comes with it. Instead of hearing BOTH sides and
coming up with your OWN conclusions. Too many labels going on.

When Obama was elected, myself and others were worried about TFR's from his visits. I think there were less than a dozen visits to Chicago for the entire 8 years. And most were less than 2 days. :)

I feel bad for South Florida and North Jersey pilots.

Then Biden caused much more problems. I saw numerous TFRs for him.

Go back and look at the TFR for a VP. Usually a two mile radius and a few thousand feet.
No where near the one for the President. Pence get's the same one as Biden did, which is the same as Cheney....
