Are those @mrsjimk ’s nose prints on the lower forward part of the window, or one of the K-let’s?Hat tip, @mrsjimk who captured this one, climbing out of GRB:

oh no!!! what happened!!!???
Aw shucks.
I suffered a big drop in power during climb then was not able to maintain altitude to get to the nearest airfield. Other than having to suddenly pitch the nose down to get under a pair of wires at the last moment, it was relatively uneventful compared to other possible outcomes. Turned out an induction coupling clamp was too loose to keep the coupling in place. The decrease in upper deck pressure screwed with the fuel flow and problems ensued. A mechanic located the issue and we had it fixed within an hour of his arrival...then I flew it off the highway with the blessing of the FSDO investigator and help with traffic control from the neighbors. It was a lovely evening for an off field, all in all.oh no!!! what happened!!!???

You got me curious, and I found it - I used your other pictures to determine the sun angle, then used the shadows to figure out that this pic was taken from the northwest of the field, looked on Google Maps for an east-west road north of Manitowoc with the right tree pattern on either side, and found it at 3716 E. Hillcrest Rd. in Two Rivers.I'm thinking this airfield had to be for model airplanes or tiny ultralights or something. No way a normal plane would fly from there. Just north of Manitowac in WI.

Ha. Nice sleuthing. We have one like that in Monticello, il. 800x50. I always wanted to land the cessna on it. A bunch of the Hobbico guys fly their toys there. The 1/4 scale stuff they fly is mind blowing. It approaches full scale airplane money. You got me curious, and I found it - I used your other pictures to determine the sun angle, then used the shadows to figure out that this pic was taken from the northwest of the field, looked on Google Maps for an east-west road north of Manitowoc with the right tree pattern on either side, and found it at 3716 E. On street view, you can just barely read the sign - It's for Manitwo Flyers Ltd RC Club. Their Facebook page says the runways are 750'.

Any plane can be a seaplane, once. Not a lot of places to land softly down in this area
