2025 - KICKOFF!

Wow. Cannot believe GT pulled this one out. Fantastic finish.
Had it all the way….

Seriously, I was on an Athens Greece to Atlanta flight and was certain we were gonna lose when it was 3-20. Went to OTwhen I was in customs and OT was on the car ride home.

If it hadn't been for the missed offsides call in GT's favor, it could have easily been a win for WF. Bad calls happen all the time and I'll take the win, but GT should give the game ball to the ref.

That's exactly what I told my wife.
Penalties:
WF 8/81
GT 4/23

Jake Dickert is going to be second guessing that 2-pt call for the rest of his life. So are WF fans and supporters.

Throughout the game I kept saying that for 50 years, when GT breaks into the top 20 they then go on a losing streak. They have narrowly avoided that so far this year.

But they ARE 5-0 and have a bye next week before VT, who is currently 1-3.

On the other hand, a Wake fumble call was reversed. Either the QB fumbled or threw a backwards pass. (Hint, it was a fumble, he pumped, the pulled the ball back and lost it). That was a huge call that went against Tech.

Yep. When they got the TD, SWMBO and I both thought they'd kick the extra point and try to settle it in a second round. When they lined up for the two point attempt, I was shocked. Amazed that they'd bet the game on one single shot at the end zone.

That's true, though I thought that call had some gray area. The QB was still gripping the ball well past the release point, so I thought it should have been ruled a fumble, but I could see room for disagreement.

The offsides, OTOH, was blatant.

How will my second favorite team this week (Alabama, whom I usually don't like) fare tonight?

Being married to an Auburn alum, I can’t root for ‘bama.

Being a Ga Tech alum, I can’t root for the U (sic) of GA.

My only hope for the game is that both starting lineups are totally ravaged so that GT and Auburn get to play the 2nd and 3rd string on Thanksgiving weekend.

Alabama looking strong so far. LSU got beat today. SEC is brutal.

Well, I’m only 1 for 3 today. GT won (by the skin of King’s teeth), but UCF lost to Kansas State and Furman obliterated Samford.

I'm two of two.
Ga. Tech won.
UGA lost.

All is well with the world, as of this minute.

What a freaking Saturday! I'm thankful the Horns weren't playing this week but I'm sure we'll still somehow go further down in the rankings. Great games all around!

I was just reading David Hale's article on ESPN and I agree that there may be some coaches updating their resumes sooner than later.

I don't ever bother to watch them anymore as the Shockers (my alma mater) haven't lost a collegiate football game for nigh unto 50 years.
Of course they haven't had a football team for that long, either.

No, but their basketball teams have ad some fun and interesting runs in the NCAA Tournament.

I’m three for three…. GA lost, PSU lost, and THE won! To bad ichigan was not playing, might of gone 4 for 4.

Majority of my family are K-State grads so I'm happy for them.

Navy vs Air Force was a good game! Watching Virginia vs Louisville right now.

GT is off this week.

Bleak weekend, 0-2 for our teams that were playing.
0 for 3 in my household . Penn State looked like they were jet lagged.

Edit. I forgot two schools, we went 1 for 5.

Me: Bachelors of Science, Vanderbilt.
Wife: Bachelors of Science in Nursing, Georgia State, but is a long time fan of Penn State.
Daughter #1: Bachelors of Arts, Penn State University Park, and Masters of Education, University of Florida.
Daughter #2: Bachelors of Public Health, Kent State University, currently attending Georgia State for a Masters of Public Health and working full time.

If I didn't already say it in this forum, I've said it with my friends...there was way too much faith put into a QB because of his last name. I'll be camping this weekend during the OU game, fortunately so I won't be able to suffer through what is undoubtedly going to be a sweeping defeat. @SoonerAviator I offer my preemptive congratulations. :cheerswine:

Lol I wouldn't be so quick to take the loss just yet. OU looks decent but I'm still not convinced that our offense is balanced enough for the team earn a Top 10 ranking. OU's defense is legit but if we don't have Mateer back at QB it's going to be a toss up on who wins. We also have zero run game with the QB run game, so it makes them very one-dimensional. Either way it's bound to be a good game as the RRS almost aways is.

I do agree that last name means VERY little when it comes to predicting potential greatness. However it's not like it's all Arch's fault, he didn't appear to be the one driving the media-hype train.

Well….well…. Interesting weekend to say the least. THE Ohio State University just keeps rolling along with the best defense in the country. Quite the upgrade after loosing 8 to the NFL and the DC. I say, I say…. Just reload, and pass me a beer!

The 'Horns didn't just fall, they crashed! #27 in the AP poll now. Well-deserved in my opinion. Sooner, you're dead on about the hype. Arch isn't getting any help from the rest of the team either with the overall sloppy and penalty-prone play.

Rcmutz, I'm usually a supporter of OSU unless they're playing Texas. I'm excited to see who can keep up because looking at all the 5-0 teams left, Oregon is the only one who has really impressed me this year so far. Ole Miss has been an exciting surprise and Miami seemingly came out of nowhere this year. I'll gladly share some beers with you on championship night if OSU keeps it up!

Edit: Just took a closer look at the rankings and saw that Penn State fell from #7 to off the chart as well after their loss to UCLA. Holy shakeup! Penn State fans, y'all ok?
