2025 - KICKOFF!

It was, but it was about the only evidence of a little breadth in the offense. King is mostly carrying the offense on his back, with a little help from Haynes.
Philo did ok last week, even if it was against Gardner-Webb.

Looks like Old Dominion is taking VT apart. What’s happened to VT lately? Their season is off to an awful start.

Two for three this weekend.

2 for 2. GT over Clemson, Auburn over South Alabama. UCF has the week off. (I don’t really count my other alma mater, Samford, but they did get stomped by Baylor today. No surprise.)

VT down 28 to zip at the half.

Can GT finally get a ranking, now that they have defeated the #12 team?
Is 18 good enough?
But who is this #12 of whom you speak?

  1. Ohio State (55)
  2. Penn State (5)
  3. LSU (2)
  4. Miami (3)
  5. Georgia
  6. Oregon (1)
  7. Florida State
  8. Texas
  9. Illinois
  10. Texas A&M
  11. Oklahoma
  12. Iowa State
  13. Ole Miss
  14. Alabama
  15. Tennessee
  16. Utah
  17. Texas Tech
  18. Georgia Tech
  19. Indiana
  20. Vanderbilt
  21. Michigan
  22. Auburn
  23. Missouri
  24. Notre Dame
  25. USC

Well, it's a start, but obviously U(sic) of GA and 'bama are much much too high.

Honestly, I think Texas is way too high. Manning has a little time to figure his **** out, but if he doesn't pull it together we'll go 0-fer against any Top-25 team we play.

Only one quarter in, so lots of game left, but UCF is really putting a hurt on UNC so far.

I'm watching the Auburn/Oklahoma game and holy smokes they're playing like it's a rivalry! So many penalties! Where's @SoonerAviator ?
Lol it's a sloppy game for sure. Lots of questionable calls from refs on both sides. Good to see them sluggi g it out though. Sooners need to get their non-QB run game going, it's been one of the weaker spots.

I’m flipping back and forth with UCF/UNC. Auburn is an alma mater in-law (SWMBO is a grad). Both teams are 3-0 and it looks like a pretty even match.

Auburn definitely has a strong defensive front which is keeping it competitive. OUs D is getting lots of pressure on Jackson Arnold which hopefully generates some turnovers.

UCF up 20-3 over UNC at the half. Welcome to college football, Mr. Belichick.

Agreed, but Auburn is hanging in there. Just tied it up.

Arkansas got screwed at the end of the first half. Who knew it was against the rules to run into a straight arm? Even Mr Magoo could have seen that as offensive pass interference.

The last penalty stat I saw for the game had OU at 9/99 and Auburn at 11/135 (I think). And I think there was still 8 minutes or so left in the game. Absolute lack of discipline on both sides. Hopefully OU keeps that up to the end of next month. This season is shaping up to be one for the ages! Pouring down rain in Miami now. I suspect the Gators ain't gonna do well tonight.

Holy Indiana! Looking through the final scores from yesterday and they put a stompin' on #9 Illinois! Nothing else was really a shock except that maybe the expectations for Utah were a bit high.

I suspect that might just have a teeny impact on the rankings...

Indiana comes out #11 and Illinois falls to 23. Clemson falls out of the Top 25 entirely. Miami back up to #2 for the first time in many years, Texas drops a couple spots even though they mopped the floor with Sam Houston (unsurprisingly) and Texas Tech gets a boost. A hell of a football weekend! Can't wait to see the SEC Roll Call tomorrow!

And Ga Tech continues its rocketing ascent up the rankings, now at #16 after thrashing Temple.

Kinda surprised to see Notre Dame is still ranked, considering their one-game winning streak....

How did A&M get to #9.?? Oh, maybe because they didn't lose this weekend.??

I presume they will fall off the chart in a few weeks if they do as they normally do.

I hope not. It seems that every time Tech has broken in to the top 25 for the past few decades, they started a losing streak the next week.

I just want them to keep winning, and BEAT GEORGIA!
I"m sure glad I was wrong. After breaking into the top 25 (#18) they beat Temple 45-24. But the 2nd quarter was a little sloppy though.

Syracuse is looking like a challenge down the road…

Luckily OU gets a bye week to regroup and clean up some of those issues (and hopefully get a non-QB running game going). Then a final tune-up game vs Kent St before heading South to Dallas for the RRR/RRS. That match-up should be a slug-fest this year, and will really be the measuring stick for both OU and UT to see who really stacks up against their poll/rankings.

North Texas got 2 votes! We have everyone fooled. Although, our QB is for real. I'm sure someone will steal him in the portal next year.

WSU lost to uw. No surprise, they usually do. But there were a few non-calls that brought the WSU band's words to the uw fight song to mind. Something about "they never win a game without a referee."

That FSU Virginia game last night was a good one, thrilling finish.

The call on that 2-point conversion attempt could have gone either way. I think they got the call right, but it was wild.

He didn’t look to have control of the ball until he was out of the end zone. Anyway, if you leave it close enough to be in the hands of the refs, you haven’t done your job!

The Virginia QB was ours last year. I hate the transfer portal. But we found another one that may be even better.....and we will lose him next year I'm sure.

Once again, GT is breaking my heart.

Tech’s offense is mostly a one-trick pony. Shut down King’s running and they’re doomed.
