2025 - KICKOFF!

That Mendoza TD reminded me of the John Elway play. I was in 3rd grade then and became a Broncos fan because they were playing the Packers. I woke up that morning with a 103.6 fever. Ironically enough I'm sick as hell today too.

At this point, make college attendence optional.
Carson Beck interview the other day

"What class did you have yesterday?"

"Uh...haha... No class. I graduated 2 years ago"

At this point, make college attendence optional. Div 1 FBS is an NFL developmental, minor league.

They should have a draft, trade players, collective bargaining, etc.

For marketing, they could still license the use of the college name, logo, etc.
Concur.

If they want to continue to pretend that these are "Student Athletes" then make Football a major. Drop those basket weaving classes.

I’m fine with them being paid, but I’d like to see meaningful academic requirements. And the portal needs to be tamed. Move the portal to after playoff season, and take away one year of eligibility when a player uses it.

Players are now entering the portal, not getting any takers. Then their old position is already filled. Oops

I've thought exactly this for a while, but it's gotten more true since the NIL rules.

Let part of the compensation package be an education from the associated college, if so desired by the athlete. Otherwise, stop the shenanigans and treat it like what it is (minor league NFL).

did anyone else how much longer the commercial breaks were? 50% to 100% longer.

I had it on whatever channel broadcast the game in 4K; the commercials aren’t played during the commercial break, it just shows whatever was going on during the break.

There was so much time spent seeing teams huddled on each has mark that it really put into perspective how little play there is in a 3.5hr televised game.

I noticed it at the first break. Usually the first in game commercial is after each team has had the ball and ran plays after the opening kickoff. This time it was after Miami punted and before Indiana ran a play.

After that first sequence, I switched to the 4K version.
