The former QB for one of my schools, University of Cincinnati, just got a reported cool $5,000,000 from Texas Tech and has transferred (along with his girlfriend who is a volleyball player). The UC Coach has said they made a “competitive offer”. I doubt that. Tech apparently outbid LSU, who I suppose spent their money on the Kiffin Heist.

Back in the pre-NIL days, provision of a "girlfriend" was part of the informal compensation package for star SEC recruits.

Can't feel too sorry for Ole Miss. They have been mediocre for a long time, and got a huge thrill out of this season. I've got a lot of happy cousins.

I think you're right about Indiana. I don't think they'll have any trouble tonight, and then I think the Canes will make them work for the win in the championship game.

I think a useful criteria for a good game is less than one minute left and you have no idea who is going to win.

But the NCAA has to make some changes. Carson Beck graduated two years ago and was still playing. Things have gotten way out of hand.

At this point, make college attendence optional. Div 1 FBS is an NFL developmental, minor league.

They should have a draft, trade players, collective bargaining, etc.

For marketing, they could still license the use of the college name, logo, etc.
