And so it begins. Once again, the brave lads from Georgia Tech will take to the gridiron, this time against the wicked horde from Colorado. 8pm EDT, ESPN.

(I heard a rumor there might be some other games tonight as well, but since they're unimportant I didn't really pay much attention.)

Amazing.

GT turns the ball over three times in the first 8 minutes, gets slapped with several penalties, and still leads at the half.

Looks much like a continuation of last year, so far. Tech’s defense is keeping them in the game, and King is carrying the offense on his back.

The good news is GT (33) can't add to the string of embarrassing loses to Louisville (26) this season unless both teams make it to the ACC playoffs.

Not only did GT win, so did SWMBO’s Auburn Tigers! There is joy in Half Fast manor this weekend.

All three of our immediate family schools won yesterday, so a perfect opening weekend!

I'm waiting for Monday to see if Belichick is for real or a joke. With the NCAA this year, I thinking he knows a lot more about managing salary and caps than anyone else in the league and i think they gave him 40m to play with. College football is changing, I hope for the better.

I don't think CFB has changed for the better since the early '60's from a structural perspective. Over that timeframe, it has gone from a sport which was played by college students who realized that a degree from a good school was more valuable than a pro career to a profession of high profile mercenaries who <mostly> don't care about an education or the school they attend. Sure they wear the colors of "their team", but for another zero on the end of the check they would play for team Iran.

That time of year again to watch giant men play with wrinkly leather balls...

Same here! UCF over Jax State Thu night, then wins for GT and Auburn on Fri night. FSU beating ‘bama was the cherry on top.

Wow.!!!!!

I just checked ticket prices for the Texas A&M at Texas Longhorns game on 28 Nov '25.

Starting at $977 up to $5467. Each.

Folks really pay that amount to sit and watch giant men play with wrinkly balls.??

Wow.!!!!!

I just checked prices for single engine airplanes.

Starting at maybe $80,000 and going up to $750,000 or more. Each.

Folks really pay that amount to fly around in those dangerous little planes.??

You're not really a pilot, are you? $1000 is like...6 flight hours?

So you wouldn't mind giving up over 32 flight hours for a good ticket? Or almost 65 hours if you only take one person with you?
I enjoy a good college football game but that's asking just a tad too much of a sacrifice.

Look at the prices to park your plane on game day. Tuscaloosa shuts down one of their 2 runways for overflow jet parking. The price to get in the stadium is chump change.

Nope, they took my private pilot certificate away years ago.

I never could afford to fly my own plane so I had to fly other folks planes...

A&M hasn't played in Austin since all the realignment BS, so it's a pretty big game. That said my Dad is thinking of selling his two tickets, which will more than pay for the whole season. Can't say I blame him - I love going to games but it's becoming hard to support what's essentially become a pro league with university logos painted on the helmets.

A pretty big game, to say the least.

I may even watch that game on Tv, and I am certainly not a football fan.

I think people don't realize what Bill Belichick's dad did for a living...

Well watching Belichick was a non event, wishing him luck with the rest of the season,

TCU Horned Frogs: 48
Belechick's UNC: 14

Makes one wonder who was the real brains behind the Patriots success. Tom without Bill flourished while Bill without Tom has floundered.

it's not that simple

Bill Belichick once said that unlike Marv Levy he wouldn't continue to coach into his 70s. He should have listened to himself and not coached in his 70s

hey, if he still enjoys coaching, why should anyone complain about it

Well, if he's loses, and if those losses cost the school revenue, and if he's receiving $10M a year, and if you're a major donor, then you might have cause to voice a complaint.

But one loss does not a pattern make. It merely allows for laughter after all the Belichick hype over the last six months.

Unless he’s sending enough players to the bigs outweighs seasonal performance. I think we’ll find out what middling school donors really care about in this experiment. Case in point is Pierce Holt. We got more alumni traction and more sticky donors after he became an NFL standout than when he led us to win the conference championship.

Well, that didn't go well for UNC. A lot of work to do, a lot of youth, a lot of inexperience, and a lot of people dropping assignments. The odds of a championship team out of the gate were pretty unlikely.

YEEEEEAH!!!!!

GT over Clemson, 24-21, with a long 55yd game-winning FG as the clock expired.

Can GT finally get a ranking, now that they have defeated the #12 team?

I hope not. It seems that every time Tech has broken in to the top 25 for the past few decades, they started a losing streak the next week.

I just want them to keep winning, and BEAT GEORGIA!
