Might want to dig a little deeper on the numbers on this. not long ago many of the usa pork producers did not have their grower contracts renewed, China had became a net exporter of pork. The actual amount of food imports from the USA is a small fraction that they can easily absorb. A huge swath of the usa’s agricultural sector is completely geared for and only capable of producing corn for ethanol without major infrastructure changes, yes, we do export basic grains, but import the vast majority of our fruits and vegetables, we may be able to quickly adapt to a grain based diet, but i for one don’t want to just eat bread and hominy, BRICS has grown and is continually growing, I love my country but I’m not under the illusion that the changes that have occurred over the last handful of decades in the global economy haven’t happened.
