Sunday looks better for me. Saturday says midday scud running for the west side of the state.
Can we all plan on Sunday, Noon EDT at MIE?
Make it so!
1800z Sunday at MIE.
Noon on Sunday it is.
Matt, should we call Kacys and let them know?
Indiana is Eastern time, why are we using a Central Time to meet?
Ok I will mark it down.
Yes, they appreciate the heads up. I called them last week and told them, most were not coming. Do you have a round a bout number of those coming?
This is what I have so far
Grant and Leslie 1 or 2
Chris K 1 or 2
That's up to 18, who have I missed?
I might have a total of 4. It may be in 1 or 2 planes
I thought Grant and Leslie were in. Also possibly "the other Liz" in her RV.
Note that 1800Z is noon CST. It's 1pm EST. (I'm good with this.)
Is that 3 more in addition to your 4 or 4 total?
Grant, Leslie, and "the other Liz" would NOT be part of my four.
Great, looking forward to seeing your Commanche!
Leslie has a cracked tooth, so I'm not sure she wants to be flying. Put us in the "we'll see" category.
Load her up with Crown and Coke before the flight, and you get to be PIC BOTH directions this time.
I definitely am a maybe. If I come, it will probably just be me.
count the other Liz in
Ed - I like the way you think!
Benadryl used to work to put my kids asleep in long flights. Maybe I should have tried the Crown and Coke. I could bring some Gentleman Jack for your return trip.
We don't want Leslie asleep. We just want her in super fun mode.
Sorry about the CDT/EDT mix up. Yes, 1800Z or 1:00 PM sounds great. I will probably have the whole family(4 ea) with me in our red/white RV-10.
Sounds great Wayne
That makes you the first female to ever utter those words!
Ted, are you guys coming up Sunday?
50kts headwind. I hate being passed by cars.
Are you coming tomorrow Chris?
I'd like to, but I'm not sure. Going to keep an eye on this wind!
From PMH-MIE. Bad going up 10 nmpg, but great coming back 22 nmpg. Hope you can make it.
We thought about it, but probably won't. It's hard traveling with a 3 month old, and actually short trips are harder than long.
Been ther done that and have scars to prove it. Took two in diapers to Wilmington NC once in a 180 Cherokee.
Catch you on the next one!
Yeah, our trip to Nebraska was pretty easy, and I think our trip to Newfoundland will be similarly simple. However the one time we flew to Grimes for lunch... that was a pain.
LOL. Ah, good times.
Sooo ... perhaps you should have suggested an "Anywhere but SW-Ohio/MI/IN Gathering"?
I'm actually going to see if a CFI is willing to go up with me in the morning in the 15G25. I think if it is 20G32 (which it might be), not even a CFI will go with me =)
The wind is forecast to be 25G35KT here. If that turns out to be, of course it will be a showstopper for me too...
If you can handle 8-9 AM winds, they will decrease through the day. If it is too strong in the AM, then see if he can go up when they get down to a more comfortable level. Your CFI may want to join us for lunch.
20G32 isn't that bad when it's close to down the runway Just carry some extra speed on final for the women and children.
My latest Tally. I will call Kacys later this afternoon.
Add the wife and two kids 9 & 12.
Fantastic, Glad I stopped by the hanger today the battery was down a bit. I see a new one in my immediate future.
Depends on the CFI. This CFI would - 20G32 isn't a big deal.
Liz, I think you're right! We'll go next for "anywhere but close to home." Plus I really don't know how to fly less than 300 nm!
