Today I’ll go take a look to see how many spots have ropes.

Last night there was a mil helo practicing ‘something’, flew in and out of here for over an hour, hovering for a while, left, came back and did it all over again, repeat.

I'm newer to flying and always looking for a fly-in. Can we just fly in for the day? What all does this entail? More info please we would like to try to make it if the weather holds out.

Having only been to this fly-in once before (last year), I'm confident saying that you could show up unannounced for just a couple of hours and you'll still be welcomed by a bunch of really generous and hospitable folks from this PoA community.

I can't make it to this fly-in this year (so many obligations) but seeing some of the pictures posted here by eman1200 has me questioning my priorities.

Exactly as Phil said.
You can show up unannounced and there's no expectations/obligations.
You can just fly in and find us (usually) either at the lounge next to the ramp, or in the loop of cabins. If you can't find us, just post here and someone will tell you where we're at.
There's no set schedule or anything -- we just kinda do whatever. Grill out, snack, talk about airplanes, complain about maintenance costs, have a beer (or a soda, if you're departing same day).

April just saw that picture and asked when we can come visit because she wants to hold the baby.
 
Our Mooney is down, but Martina (Skywalker) and I will fly in Saturday afternoon with our newly (kinda) finished Zenith.

Thankfully, they’re forecasting a healthy tailwind! :cool:

Keep an eye out for a bright orange flash zipping across the sky!

Just show up and start messaging here asking where people are hanging out. Typically Fri + Sat night are community BBQ’s, if you’d like to bring something to contribute.
