Pro tip for the iPhone users out there: You can always have perfect timing. Turn on Live photos. If you didn't get it quite right, hit Edit, Live, and then you can see all the frames and slide your finger back and forth until you find the awesome time that you'd have just missed otherwise. Tap "Make key frame" and boom! You have awesome timing, retroactively.

I use this extensively for pictures of people, who are constantly blinking, looking at other stuff, etc.
