Monkey to Oshkosh and Beyond!

Yes, 6PC, Oshkosh is always going on. As long as you remember Oshkosh in your dreams, you'll never grow old and you'll always be at Oshkosh...

GoGo for The Monkey! Here's POA denizen Masloki trying to contain the monkey, with me. This is the day after Masloki offered free breakfast for everyone at Oshkosh!

Here's The Monkey going flying with the Aeroshell Aerobatic Team! What an amazing precision flying performance!

There are plenty of pictures of The Monkey at Oshkosh to last another week, or more. And I'm working on some adventures for him here in Colorado.

Soon, he'll be going to Bremerton, Washington for the AOPA Fly-In. That seems like a fine time to hand him off to a POA member who can take him flying in Washington and deliver him to another state.

EMan1200 is keeping good track of where The Monkey has been. I believe we can get him to all 50 states in the USA, and hopefully he can tour Canada. Rwellner98 has offered to tour him through the 31 states in Mexico, which is terrific.

Who wants Monkey Custody in Washington??
Who will help make the dream complete?

so I took a quick look at @AuntPeggy s member map. I see @red4golf is close to seattle but for some reason when I hover over other peeps plane icon I can't get the names. lemme try a different browser but I wonder if red would be a willing participant in the madness.

You must know some really important people to be able to pull that off.

Oh, no, it's not the important people I know... It's the important people who want to know The Monkey!

(Special thanks to Kim, the kind and patient woman at the Aeroshell booth.)

oh and MY ads-b experience shows that @Ghery will be at the aopa event. I mean, just sayin........

I just meant that yo got a female to touch your monkey.

It's The Monkey, not anyone's monkey. The Monkey is like the wind, the spirits, a wild stallion/mare that cannot be tamed... The Monkey cannot be possessed anymore than you could possess the smoke from The Monkey's large weed fire!

I think it would be fun and I bet that I can get photos from a Blackhawk through a buddy. I wish that I was still on my tank, that would have been a change of pace for sure.

BTW, I got to meet Evil Eagle at Oshkosh. A super nice guy! I wonder where the nickname came from?

Really nice to meet you too - goes for all the POA folks that stopped in to say hi. I'm sorry I didn't get to the party; got held up in warbird land all night. The name is a long story best told over a cold beer, but it didn't really have anything to do with me being mean necessarily.

Celebrity spotting!
Here's Jason Schappert from MzeroA, his lovely wife Ashley, and their skeptical daughter. She is the only person who doesn't love The Monkey! She just didn't like being around anything that was cuter/got more attention than she does! Jason will also be at the AOPA event in Bremerton, so we can get a better picture of him with The Monkey.

Okay, enough cute people. Here's some techno geekage as The Monkey does some serious engine inspection. Thanks to the good people at Rotax who didn't seem to mind when I took ten minutes of close-up photos of their engine!

I'll be away from the computer for most of the rest of the weekend, so here's a bonus non-monkey picture.IMG_8402.JPG

Everyone enjoy the weekend and I look forward to reading more posts. Looks like we're getting the start of a plan for The Monkey's journeys after Bremerton.

Can't to see pictures of The Monkey in Vegas if anyone ever gets him there...

monkey already done tore UP vegas.

He picked up a lot of bad habits there.
When I got him, he was like Robert Downy Jr. in "Less than Zero" or like Robert Downy Jr. in real life.

He seems to have cleaned up his life.

Cargo shorts will never die!

Meanwhile, back with The Monkey... Enjoy this photo.
I'm not really sure what was happening here and don't think I want to know. I stumbled across this scene early one morning and The Monkey leaped into action. Closest thing he did to a photo bomb...

Apparently, CandyStriper Santa is not normally affiliated with this VW Bug. It was a beautiful paint job, really immaculate. I believe someone said the use of the Bug was auctioned off prior to Oshkosh as a fund-raiser. And, I believe he said it went for $30,000-plus! (Though it may have been "Thirty-three hundred" and not thousand.)
Anyone have any info?

Damn, I'd better go stock up. :)

Hahah wait for prices to fall. Those of us who've been married for 20 years do not care in the slightest what's in style. Haha. But functional stuff is awesome. Usually the problem with cargo shorts at my age is remembering which damn pocket I put stuff in. :)

I'm wondering if interest in The Monkey at Oshkosh might be waning a little, so time to bring out the T&A photos.

Here's the teaser picture:

Stay tuned for more!

Huh. I never saw her at the booth. Always ran into the other mermaid girl. Still waiting to see how much spam I get from them trying to sell me land on Pureto Rico around a runway or wherever it was. We filled out the card to enter the drawing thingy.

Before the mermaid money shot, here's the angel:

And if things keep going in this direction, The Monkey will certainly need:

Man, discussion has dropped off for The poor Monkey. Here's a photo that should generate some discussion!
(I emphasize there was no coercion, not even suggestion, for this pose.)

Umm, thanks for sharing?
Anyway, bringing things back to an aviation theme...

Just like all of us, The Monkey loves aviation! And airplanes! Here's The Monkey posed for greatness, with no extra charge for the distorted reflection of The Monkey's photographer:

IMG_0627.JPG

Uh-oh! It got too hot, and The Monkey fainted!

IMG_0622.JPG

Fortunately, the good EAA people at Oshkosh were willing to help The Monkey cool down some. Maybe Eman, 6PC, and SAC should try this, too?

This is becoming worthy of creating poamonkey.com blog or something. I can't imagine how long this will continue or how it will end.

I have another ~15 photos of The Monkey enjoying Oshkosh, plus more from adventures since then. Hopefully, I'm taking The Monkey flying twice in the next few days, and then the odyssey to Washington ending in the AOPA Fly-In at Bremerton.
(Still no confirmed handoff of The Monkey, so I could take him to Eastern Washington, and, eventually, the AOPA Prescott event.)
So, heck yeah, bring on poamonkey.com!!!

It looks like after I passed him off to you, the monkey convinced you to completely abandon your booth to continue his antics. Glad you both had fun.

I can take him. I'm just not sure if it will be at the AOPA event or not. I need a FR and plan on attending the rusty pilot seminar on Saturday morning but my wife has a funeral to go to during that time. If we can't work that out I would be happy to meet you in Olympia like you had mentioned. I'm already lining up both Army and air Force flyers to show our little friend around and yes, I'm also working on more boobs and a B-18A or F-86 display. ;)

Can we get the Monkey to Gaston's? I've heard through the grapevine, that he likes trout fishing and beer.

I'm waiting on the monkey blog, and the spin-off www.pornmonkey/poa.com that will come later on when he becomes less popular and having a hard time finding work on the big screen. Sad really.
