Monkey to Oshkosh and Beyond!

While DenverPilot goes to the dogs, let's check back in with The Monkey.

Resting up, The Monkey made a new friend. Kind of a creepy friend - I wonder if he's already on POA? Their conversation didn't go well, and The Monkey was pretty shell-shocked after that.

The Monkey was excited to go to a small Fly-In, but poor weather kept The Monkey and the airplanes grounded.

Eventually, The Monkey got to check out some very, very cool airplanes! (Thank you, M&C!) Who can identify this monkey-full airplane?

OkieFlyer is one hundred percent correct! Tell him what he's won, Eman...

Another picture of this beautiful Cessna 195. Yes, that's redundant.

In that same hangar resides a lovely Cub, too. And since the owner had turned his back, The Monkey lept into the cockpit, completely ignoring the safety placards.

And, of course, you can't have too many powerplant photos, so here is one more:

The Monkey and I are shamefully flying commercial to SeaTac tomorrow. I'll post more monkeyshines tomorrow evening, and The Monkey will be appearing live at AOPA Bremerton. If you're around, come see him!

I've PMed red4golf and luvflyin to coordinate the handoff. If anyone else wants a piece of The Monkey in Seattle, please let me know.

So, this may be my last post as custodian of The Monkey, aka chimp janitor! Here are some pics from flying around KBJC Rocky Mountain Metro in Broomfield (Thanks, GJ), and KBDU Boulder Muni (Thanks, Norm).

Nice cloudy summer afternoon headed towards the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. The Monkey is strapped in just in case of turbulence.

Whew, the air is thin up here! The Monkey makes sure he gets enough oxygen. Right? That's oxygen?

Two days later and much earlier in the day, The Monkey surfs a Stratus 2S while banking away from the foothills.

Over Boulder, The Monkey banks to the north.

Put together, it's like The Monkey is saying "Rock Your Wings" in a farewell salute to Oshkosh.

Thanks, POA, for the opportunity to caretake The Monkey. I look forward to enjoying his continuing adventures... G-Man

Glad to see The Monkey is returning to his sinful ways.
I put him in the capable hands, er, backpack of Luvflyin.

An hour later, Red4golf showed with an honor guard (his cool kids) but Luvflyin had departed the airspace.

It'll be tough without The Monkey, but I take heart knowing he is moving on to all the US, Canadian, and Mexican states!

Ok. I'm going to shoot another pic of the Monkey learning The Force from Yoda tomorrow. That didn't come out quite as intended. The Monkey wasn't standing up in "the swamp" so we just had Yoda holding him up. My bad for not seeing the what it looked like. Good punchlines though.

The Monkey is still in Washington, KVUO, but did penetrate the Peoples Republic of Oregon airspace on the flight from KPWT. Interceptors were launched. The Monkey said "dude, don't worry, I have been to the swamp and have The Force, we are safe.MonkYoda.JPG

AM/FM with cassette? Are you serious dude, upgrade the dam airplane.
You should buy one of these.
I can't breathe.

Wow - luvflyin, you are upping the ante as Official Escort for The Monkey! Great stuff!

So we're flyin to the beach and throw a football in the backseat to toss around when we get there. Monkey say's "I wanna ride in the back seat." Didn't know he was a sports fan.

Wiiiiiiillllllsoooooooon! LOL

I'm flying my Bo out to Sacramento then up to Klamath Falls, OR over Labor Day weekend then back to Nola after giving a few checkrides to the K-falls guys. If the monkey wants to tag along, I can get him back to the SE or any stop in between. (and can take him up in the Eagle)

@luvflyin @EvilEagle any chance of this handoff happening this weekend?

I'm working on it. He's getting to K falls on monday and said he'd be there for a couple days. I'm trying to get someone bumped from the schedule so I can get a plane Tuesday. I have a friend who owns a 182 that may be able help. Of course, you could just Paypal 50k or whatever it was to the guy with the Mooney at Troutdale and tell him I'll pick up the keys tomorrow?

I'd like that, but that guy pulled his ad down because someone put a cash hold on it. I thought I might hear from him this week if that fell thru, but I haven't.

Oh yeah, be sure and get it insured. I ain't never flown a Mooney before. But I will be sure and include the Monkey, with description in remarks as a Soul on Board. He will be found and continue the Journey. You're the next of kin.
