Where is your favorite place to grab a bite? Lunch or dinner, what's your go to place?

Chain or one of a kind type of place?

Airport greasy spoon, or any greasy spoon?

Non-Airport:
I'm a breakfast kind-of guy, so I like Cappy's Diner in Newport Beach for their omelettes and biscuits and gravy. If it's late night, it's Harbor House in Seal Beach for a huge omelette and hash browns with a beer. For lunch or dinner, I love Panini Cafe (all locations good, but I like Irvine or Woodland Hills), or upscale, I like R+D Kitchen in Newport Beach - all things on their menu is good, but I love the seared Ahi Tuna Salad. And the Carrot Cake. Dear Lord, get the Carrot Cake... it's THAT good.

Airport:
Flo's Airport Diner at KCNO. Any place with peach cobbler is A-OK with me.

I like to go to The Aviator for lunch. Unfortunalty it's a good drive to Blairsville, Ga so I only go about once every 2 weeks. Local area, don't really have any favorites.

I see you are also in Tennessee. We have Jasons deli in Tennessee and they have Muffulettas. Getcha one.

Shiro. It's a Japanese hibachi place about 15 minutes from the house. Food is always on point.

Yeah, there's one by the mall. Not a place I go very often, but they have Zucchini and Caprese panini's that are good. I'll keep your suggestion in mind.

Any restuanant at an airport, like some much better than others.

Airport Breakfast: Ozzies at KOUN
Unhealthy greasy food: Ron's Hamburgers & Chili - Tulsa metro area (great sausage-burgers)
BBQ- BurnCo in Tulsa or Jack Stack in KC Metro

Chains it would have to be zaxbys. Other than that eh I eat to live so not big on restaraunts. I do love me some prime rib and ribeye steaks though and when I get steaks i'll usually eat a 2lb package. When grilling out with friends i've learned to bring my own otherwise it ends up me thinking to myself "oh a 6oz cut wheres the other 5 pieces"

Well, I like me some Zaxbys chicken strips. A little overpriced but I can almost always get in without waiting in lines in my town. That's a plus for me.

When I lived in the Chicago area, Lou Malnati's for pizza. My father, my cousin, and I used to get a pizza from Lou's and a coconut cream pie from Baker's Square and watch Monday Night Football. You can get frozen Lou's pizzas sent to your house, they're amazingly good. I always get a couple for my birthday.

I live in north metro Atlanta now. For something quick, I like Zaxby's and Moe's. There's not much around here that's local and independent in the quick eats, but there are a lot of nice restaurants. Most of them are too fancy for my tastes. Probably the best sandwiches are served by Which wich, though there's a locally owned restaurant that make a terrific Buffalo (chicken) wrap.

Cappy's is amazing. I used to work about a mile from there, and we'd go quite often for the prime rib melt sandwich. Waitresses there are easy on the eyes.
Antonucci's down a few blocks on PCH used to be a great pizza place/surfer hangout, but it's changed a lot...not sure it even exists anymore. Or Zuby's Gilded Cage on Placentia (gone), Omelette Parlor (gone) or the original Wahoo's (still there)...best fish tacos around.

The Yoshinoya combo bowl hits the spot, but there are none near me.

Gawd, I am sooooo hungry now! Thanks a lot.:mad::D:D

Barb's kitchen, never a bad meal there, at least none you'd tell her about. :)

Yea! Those little Nibbler sandwiches are tasty!

Tried Which Which for the first time at Atlantic Station in Atlanta a few months back, great sub! Wish we had one closer.

Is that off Va AVe on north side of Hartsfield? If so ate there a few times when I flew for ASA/ExpressJet. Agree very good.

It's north of Hartsfield, not far from the GA dome if I remember correctly.

Edit: This is the one.

OK this one was adjacent to KATL on the north side, off Virginia Ave, now all this food talk has me hungry but too late to be eating

I have eaten out so much in my life that I have come back around to...my kitchen! Anyone's kitchen, in fact.

If ever in North Dallas, you need to eat at "Verf's" Fantastic food in a mixed bar / steakhouse atmosphere.
Tons of beers on tap and the most unique place. The food is excellent and upscale-ish but the prices are not crazy and the atmosphere is somewhere between rustic steakhouse and sports bar.

Really unique place, and my current favorite restaurant.

Only been there once, but Texas Land and Cattle in Albuquerque was great. Well worth the price.

My absolute favorite place... King's Truck Stop, Port Barre, LA. Authentic cajun food at authentic cajun prices. $2 beers, $3 cocktails (...and they make 'em STRONG), damn good cornbread and a couple slot machines in the back for kicks. No frills and 24 hour breakfast. My family filled that place up after my PawPaw's funeral last summer... stuffed our faces, threw down and laughed about the good ol' days. The gumbo leaves a bit to be desired, but no place is perfect.

Not big on chains, but if I had to pick one, British Beer Company has a "Super Slice" lunch special... $6 for two jumbo slices of pizza + soup/salad. Can't beat it.

1. A lot of people think it's pretentious and not that great but if I had to name one, it would be Aliotos, Fisherman's Wharf, San Francisco. There used to be a Charlie Brown's right off the wharf which had a Prime Rib special on Thursdays but it's been gone for a long time.

2. Going inland, hands down, number one, Jamie's Bar and Grill, Sacramento.

Lots of great local non-chain places to choose from, depending on what I want for dinner. Can't decide on one, I pick based on who's the best at what.

J Alexanders, 1885, Tony's Pasta and Mojo Burrito are some of our fav locals.

Downtown centric, but:

Spicy chicken sandwich: Tavern
Southern fried chicken: Champys
Ribs: Southern star
BBQ: Porkers if I'm in the mood for a dive joint, or Clydes. Clydes has a good beef brisket, hard to find in this area, and their candied Bacon appetizer is KILLER!
Burger: Full Moon or Tremont
Fish tacos: Amigos(sometimes a gamble) or Big River. Big River also has a mean grilled meatloaf.
Coffee and desert: Mean Mug or Needloves, MM has better coffee, Needloves better pastries
Have a few Asian go to's, but they could be better.
Hotdogs: Griffins hands down, much better than Good(BAD) Dog.
Sweet potato fries: CBC, killer SP waffle fries, and their burger is in the top 5.
Pizza: Community Pie

Some of the local food trucks have some good stuff!

I've been to a few of those. Was also a fan of the Pickle Barrel. Lots of great restaurants in that town.

Yeah food trucks good in the Birmingham area too.

Like your selections, especially Champy's, and these in my area:

Southern fried chicken: Champys

BBQ: Buddy's (local shack) and Dreamland BBQ
Burger: 5 Guys
Fish tacos: LA Burrito (local Mex)
Coffee and desert: home
Asian: Bamboo Garden in Alabaster AL
Hotdogs: Gus's in Helena AL
Sweet potato fries: couple places in my area
Pizza: Buck's Pizza, and Joe's Italian in Alabaster (my town)

Champs here started serving Tamales awhile back, pretty good too. Our local Champy's has music a few nights a week, usually someone playing guitar or a local trio hits it up once in awhile.

Have yet to try Champy's, everyone I talk to says it's great!
Community Pie is excellent along with New York Pizza Dept. in Hixson.
I concur on the Asian, most of them are pretty sorry. Best one I've found is Imperial Garden.

The Beacon at Hicks some mornings after work, otherwise, whatever is close and reasonably quick when I'm running errands. On occasion I'll gather up the wife and boys and hit Outback, Tejas de Brazil or Boi na Braza.

Total dive joint, but awesome chicken. Order a "40" with dinner to complete the experience.

Recent visit, but I went with the 16 instead of the 40 (was driving that day):
