My daughter and son-in-law's wedding gift(married on Jan 5th)..... A scenic flight of NYC! 1/17/13

This was a historic flight for me because I had the pleasure of giving them their first flight as newlyweds. And although she's flown many times, this flight was reminiscent of her first flight. I gave her and my younger daughter their first flight (the same scenic route) right after I got my PPL in 1999. She was 11 and her sister was 5.

I'll never forget, she was in the front taking pictures and my younger daughter was in the back. I glanced over my shoulder to see how she was doing back there and she was knocked out :)

Now the 11 year old is 24 and married, and although her husband sat up front with me, she took some amazing shots from the back seat........enjoy!
Don't know why she didn't get any of Coney Island:dunno:

When I lived in Charlotte from '03-'14 I used to love race weeks twice a year. We lived in the university area and I loved all the hustle and bustle and crowds and vendors and driving through it.

In route to KCGF from KLAF today. View of KBKL and Cleveland. Been planning on doing this trip since last year. My longest solo XC to date. First time flying thru Class Bravo. Not as scary as I imagined, lol! I could’ve gotten closer pics but was getting kinda anxious to refocus 100% on flying rather than any sightseeing.

Just happened to go to the 57 Fighter Group Restaurant this past weekend during the annual Good Neighbor airshow. Had an awesome time. Finally saw Bob land the cub on the truck in person. Seen it on youtube quite a few times.

Model P51 out front.

Now I have been having trouble identifying this aircraft.. I thought they said it was a CAF plane. It has the same livery as the SB2C HellDiver from the texas wing but doesn't look quite like it compared to the pictures online. Looks like an SBD-5 Dauntless but doesn't look like the one they have listed for the Dixie Wing. Any warbird pros out there?

That is indeed the CAF Helldiver. I believe it is the only airworthy one in existence.
