Seven P2Vs converted to aerial tankers; parked at Alamogordo, New Mexico. These workhorses, which belong to Neptune Aviation Services, are being retired. Most of them will spend their retirement in various aviation museums. Photographed with Nikon D300 camera and Nikkor 18-200mm lens. No digital manipulation. Photo by Jim Unruh.

Never saw the P-2's, worked on P-3's for 10 years..Nice..

I think it was a P2 I caught a hop in from Maxwell AFB to Andrews AFB in '68. Crew let me sit down in the nose section, observer seat?, and I was hoping they'd let me stay there for the landing, but they came and got me back in the cabin.

It’s not every day you see a b24 fly over your work!!

General Aviation News, sent in this photo for Picture of the Day, explaining: “Stew Dawson brings his lovely Grumman F7F Tigercat down the flightline during his warbird aerobatics demonstration at the 2018 Planes of Fame Airshow. Two of the four Lockheed P-38 Lightnings appearing at the show can be seen on the ground.”

We flew nine cats today. They were supposed to be transported from Hartford, KY to Flint, MI. Pick up of the cats was in Columbus (KOSU) where we took over from the first leg pilot Rick.

We got some IMC time and were once again glad that we have our instrument rating.

The one with the purple collar wants attention from anyone, and will sit on the couch with visitors. The other is wary. Fortunately, neither runs out onto the ramp when the door is opened.

All cats at the rescue organization are strictly on bottled water... I know because I recently asked.:smilewinkgrin::lol:

Oh I know what ya meant. Just commenting on how sad neither of them are flying anymore.
It is. Wasn’t the blackbird able to fly coast to coast in just under an hour or something to that extent?

I remember it being a very impressive number.
