    Some advice needed...

I can attest to the fact that you never really lose all of what you have been taught. I recently started back on lessons after a long 16year lay-off. I was surprised at how much I could actually remember and perform. When I first started those years ago I did most of it by trading off work for...

    Dick Clark Died Today

American Bandstand was a staple on TV growing up along with The Tonight Show. New Year's Eve will not be the same without him. RIP Dick Clark.

Proud and sad to be an American today!

I agree we had never, up to this point, retired a vehicle without a replacement online. The government went way too early with the ax. I think a lot of it has to do with politics. It gave the government a sense of doing something about spending. Sadly we now rely on someone with who our...

    Negative ANN article about Cirrus

I just saw this thread and have spent the last couple of hours going through everything. This thing reads like some kind of movie script or soap opera. I vaguely recall the Tulsa incident. This dude is crazy! I used to live not far from he does now never knew I had someone that full of himself...

The Murtha Airport in Johnstown, Pa.,

Indeed it is. It reminds me of the Senator that died and they continued his retirement pay to his survivors. Seeing this thread remind me of a website that tells the history of little-known and/or abandoned airports. There is some real history out there going away while something like this happens.

    Just Quit Training

At least I can say mine is one of the ones that isn't. He has already done the airline thing, the agricultural thing, and now runs the FBO and loves it. I am glad I have an instructor that isn't looking for the airline slot plus with his experience I am learning a lot. He also wants things to be...

Petaluma case raises questions about FAA policies on drunken pilots

Stupidity at its finest. Glad they took action.

    Gastons 2012 - Don't miss it

Thanks for the info. Google shows it to be a 7 1/2 hour drive for me. If I can get the time off from work it sounds like an easy drive. I just may have to seriously consider it.

    Gastons 2012 - Don't miss it

I would love to attend. I reckon since I haven't yet completed my PPL I could always drive. Where exactly is it in the state?

So I'm in a bit of a tough decision for the path I want to take in education.

I am using the GI Bill right now to earn my PPL through a Part 141 school. It is a 2-year college and will also net me my commercial and instrument ratings. If you use the old GI Bill it will only pay 60% of the cost. Also, that would only be paid out after the certificates are completed. I was...

    Part 141 Training

I haven't yet, but will be later this year. I am curious how it works with the normal hours requirements and all.

    Whooping cough is back... again

I wish they would have given me the choice. I had to get both the smallpox and anthrax vaccinations. Trust me when I say neither of them were any fun at all. I guess I had to get them because I was on a VBSS (Visit, Board, Search, and Seizure) team.

We know how to party at KDEN

Thanks I really needed to see that. Now I don't have to worry about those extra calories I ingested at lunch since I just got rid rid of them in the trash can.

We know how to party at KDEN

The woman you would want to see in that state of undress will be the least likely to do it. However, the opposite usually holds true also. It is always the ones you wouldn't want to see that do it.

    Ghost Peppers

Here are a couple of items to try if really want to feel the burn or just really enjoy the pain you can inflict on yourself. http://www.thinkgeek.com/interests/giftsunder10/ec0c/ http://www.thinkgeek.com/caffeine/wacky-edibles/e8fe/

    Bloody hell.

Where does said line form? I have yet to take my exam and I am a little erratic to say the least when it comes to the online tests. I have never failed one but it has been dicey a couple of times.

F-18 crashes in VA Beach apartment complex

This is what I was thinking too. This one took out the better part of 4 apartment buildings.

F-18 crashes in VA Beach apartment complex

I was just figuring take-off due to the proximity of the road to the airfield. Of course, Birdneck isn't a short road so I don't know exactly where that place was. It does look bad though from the news footage.

    April Fools

I have a Ridgeback and they are great dogs. I wouldn't want to be on the wrong end of one mad at me for sure. They have an incredibly strong bite. I watched mine shred a golf ball in about 10 seconds flat.
