In this thread we stray from the topic as far as possible.

Do managers take hints from Dogbert?

Why do bicyclists ignore the physics of the differences between the 20lb bike and the 3000lb car?

Spend about 10 minutes with the average rider and you'll understand completely that they think everyone should get out of their way since they are such wonderful people who earn everything they get in life.

Happiness is....

I'd be happier if it wasn't so cross. Nice day at the beach tho. And I did fly. Kids happy, dog is happy, sun is shining, I'm happy.

The aerodynamics of my desk are awful can barely keep this thing in the air.

Why do almost half the drivers on the road think they are superior drivers while they drift back and forth across lanes trying to text or checking facebook?

Why does the probability of the toast landing butter-side up depend on the cost of the carpet?

Or, you lose time at red lights because each dweeb in line takes 10 seconds to look up and realize everyone is moving? :dunno:

Bread lands butter side up? :hairraise:

toast only, the rules are different for un-toasted bread

...and no, I don't know how to un-toast bread...

...or butter can land toast-side down...

obviously it's very complicated

Did you ever wonder why people use a speakerphone for all of their phonecalls? I mean, are they unable to pick up the handset?

I work in an Engineering support group. We do it so we have hands free to work the computer, shuffle through wiring diagrams etc.

The side benefit for our very small department is that the entire group tunes in if they are free in a way that leads to a lot of cross discipline collaboration between Powerplant, Systems, Avionics and and Structures Engineers. It helps a lot.

There's a DEAD skunk in the middle of the road, but it's not obama.

If there was only something that would allow hands-free operation of a phone without broadcasting both sides of the conversation to everyone in the free world...

oh wait.... there is!

How about those Global Banana Trade Policies

This country could be energy independent today if we fixed the damn traffic lights. I am so sick of stopping for a light that just turned red when there is nobody coming from the other direction. And then sitting there for interminable minutes while cars back up in 4 different directions because there is a green turn arrow with nobody turning. Then I FINALLY get a green light just as the light turns red for an oncoming car in a lane that has been green until he got there.

I don't think a traffic engineer could have designed a worse system if he tried. Sometimes I think the do try to design frustrating and inefficient systems.

Has anyone tried putting toast on the bottom of their plane?

What's up with 4 way stop signs?
:mad2::mad2: Town I grew up in has them at literally every intersection. It is insane, fortunately I never go there. Even dumber, right next to a conglomeration of public schools in this town there are a bunch of cross streets that have 4 way stops, and one in the middle that doesn't.:mad2::mad2:

Luca Brasi's gift to Connie Corleone's wedding purse was the biggest of any guest's.

Does washing the aircraft belly increase performance?

Henning did it once.....

Ended up spreading all the butter and jelly on a runway while headed to Oshkosh...:yikes::yikes::redface::D

Classic blunder the idea is to put the butter and jelly on the bottom of the plane and put the toast on the runway and see how good you are at spreading it.

Luckily here they've converted many to traffic circles, although some people can't seem to figure out what "yield to traffic in circle" means

We need to get back off topic, this is getting boring...
