What did you do today?

yet another tooth extraction... starting down the path for implant #9

I'm probably on the slowest path to becoming the $6million man.

I've got 4 or 5. The lowers are no big deal. An upper molar with a sinus lift can be a Nazi interrogation experience.

I be a big wuss - sedation for every implant (include the time I had the sinus lift)

Contrary to the popular saying, there are grades of bad landings. I humbly submit the following scale for consideration:

Level I. Embarrassment.
Level II. Damage.
Level III. Injury.
You may want to add Level IV. Close encounters of the Fourth Kind.

Probably smart. I'm a pretty hard guy, and I almost tapped out in the middle of that.

I went in for a check of a loose crown. When they pulled on it, half the tooth came off. The dentist said I could come back for a series of appointments over a year, or they could just do an implant on the spot.

Next thing I know, I am numbed up and they have pulled out the roots and drilled out the socket.

All of a sudden two large male assistants step out of the shadows and HOLD MY HEAD. The dentist takes a pin punch, puts it in the tooth socket, pulls out a hobby hammer, and starts whacking on the punch.

It did not hurt. But it felt like the tip of that punch was in the center of my brain. Every strike reverberated through my skull. I was about half a second away from swinging my arms wildly to get everyone off me.

Never again.

Substituted for an employee on an abbreviated delivery route. Produce sales are way down in the twin cities - restaurants are deserted.

Un-gelled a very angry Freightliner, got it inside, and did the whole oil change/chassis lube/PM service routine.

Used my whiteboard to deliver a ground lesson on left turning tendencies to my saintly wife.

Bailed out on Bernays' Crystallizing Public Opinion book for the second or third time, made good headway on Anne Lindbergh's North to the Orient instead.

Day 19 of Dry January, I miss the brown elixir but I guess I can continue on without it.

You got me beat. I went to a dentist to remove a wisdom tooth. Only he didn't numb me all the way and didn't give me any pain killers after.

The next one I went to an oral surgeon. As it had to come out in pieces. Put me under for that!IMG_3005.jpeg

Scouted my grove for windfalled trees to make a plan for spring to harvest a few years of fire wood. It’s been around five years since I have cut any and it is time to rebank the winter reserves. There is a lot more than I anticipated, probably 8 years worth and more than enough that was dried standing before it fell to support next winter directly. Now I have to decide which young new growth trees to sacrifice to most efficiently get it out. (I wish I had a good team of oxen, it would be much less damaging).

Finished building the last of three sliding pantry cabinets, part of a much larger kitchen remodeling job. The faces and other trim will have to wait a few months until I recover from my upcoming shoulder surgery, but at least we now have a place to put "stuff".

Went to a get together of fellow owners in the condo complex at Steamboat. Folks from Australia, Canada and several States. Some full time and some Winter only.

Whoever is bad-mouthing carrots...
Shame on you. That smacks of rampant vegetablecism. There are just as many creepy turnips, rutabagas, potatoes, and onions.

That may be but I draw the line at tomatoes. They’re a fruit that you can put into vegetable soup but not into a fruit salad. Tomatoes should drop the trans-veggie thing and be content with the way they’re made.

I'll have to ask my granddaughter where that came from. Brussels sprouts may be the creepiest of them all.

Looks like Florida when a 'cane is approaching. It's a good idea to stock up on gasoline before the hoarders get it all. And don't forget to lay in plenty of ammunition.
I’ve got 37 gallons in my truck that I can pump out into the generator if the propane runs out.

And my slingshot ammo is stocked up.

Heavy snow predicted here in Gallup on Friday.

We have been told to expect up to 3/10s of an inch of snow.

I hope we can survive...

Lucky. They’re calling for 1/3 of that here. In ice though.

hey, I've shoveled 6" of a dusting before, so, be prepared.

We just got the cold, none of the precipitation. Presently -23°F, trucks are in the heated shop and it's looking like a great day to dig into a Cummins for an EGR system cleaning.
