What did you do today?

Finished packing for the annual winter in Steamboat Springs and left for the first leg of the trip. AFAIK, for the first time in 29 years I haven’t forgotten something. The final verdict will be on Thursday when I unpack.

That sounds like the situation where I'm certain I've packed everything into my bag, then I forget the bag.

Has been pretty grim for snow, but the Boat got 20 inches last week. Looks like it will be warm and dry thru the end of January.

Hit a giant pothole in an Isuzu NPR; bit my tongue so hard it drew blood.

I assume you’re familiar with the hot/crazy matrix.....
She's talking to me... So she's clearly off her rocker.

Has an innate ability to shut off the world when things get busy. Currently working 2 jobs saving to buy a house. I thought gen z was glued to their phone. She's proven me wrong as I've never seen her touch her phone when we're out. And I'm no Stephen King to be that interesting.

Still...treading lightly.

I worked a bit on my “dork mobile”. It started as a a late 1960’s-early 1970’s vista three speed.

I would like to build and install a 1910’s style rectangular “coffin” fuel tank

Enough of my social life. I feel judged.

Left work early to take advantage of decent weather to wash the salt spray off the plane after a week in the keys. Filthy.

Jury duty this morning. I wasn't selected to serve, which is a relief... I've served before and enjoyed it, but right now there is too much going on in my life.

Then continued the project of building the third of three sliding kitchen cabinets (picture floor to ceiling drawers, 3' deep, with shelves accessed from the side when open, the best way to utilize the space). Trying to get this phase of the project done before scheduled shoulder surgery in a couple of weeks, which will have me out of commission for a couple of months.

Flew commercial from SNA to PHX to MCI to, hopefully, close the deal on an unfinished future E-AB!

So....full extension heavy duty bottom mount slides?

Went to the saddle shop and ordered a holster for my new 1911, as well as a matching belt. Should be ready in about a week. Still trying to decide what engraving I want for the gun, but I won’t be having that done for a while yet.

Also went by the hangar to replace a few buggered screws and nut plates on a wingtip, only to find I’d ordered the wrong size. The right ones will be here early next week.

We had a mild freeze last night, and I confirmed once again that my hangar is always one of two temperatures: too hot or too cold.

Side mount. 3 per cabinet; two near the bottom and one on top to keep it straight. This is the first one, before the shelves were in it.

I’m looking at doing something like that in the shop being built. Instead of the cabinets pulling out, I’m going to add about 30” to the width and have the hanging racks slide left to right, meaning I’ll have to step into the void between cabinets to access the stuff on each side.

Similar to LeveRacks.

Never saw LeveRacks before, kinda cool, but you lose the aisle's worth of storage space, which in my case would be 1/3 of the storage space and even then would mean a very narrow aisle. Mine's a narrow space, just enough for three 16½" wide x 36" deep slides, but the best possible use of the deep space. The LeveRacks doubtless have more weight capacity than the cantilevered slides I used, though. Our kitchen will be decidedly non-standard but very functional, about what you'd expect when an engineer does the interior design.

You need lots of vitamin C, and to drink as much as you can. Vodka screwdrivers are the answer. Might not cure the flu, but you won’t care very much.

Finished the Jim Lang book "Papa X-Ray" and replaced a leaky crankshaft seal on a Kenworth.

Page 69, nice.

It's crazy to me people drink straight mixer.

I learned that I didn't know where the CG was, at all, and I came up with a recipe for salad dressing. Tiny batch for testing.

2 T olive oil, 1 T white wine vinegar, 1 T water, 1.5 t simple syrup, 1/8 t each of onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and mustard powder. Muddle in one basil leaf.

Trying to replicate a recipe of a place I'd go as a kid, a restaurant run by a bartender. He had some skills, I think it was an OK copy. I might leave out the o and g powder next time.

No idea at all if it's good for the flu.

Picked up my Employee Pass and Uniform Vest for the season. Due to a budget crunch, most likely because of the shortage of snow so far, the Boss said would you mind staring two weeks later?

Let’s see, two weeks to ski or start work today. Tough choice, even if the mountain is only about 2/3 open.

Put in a TSO cigarette lighter receptacle from Spruce to pair with Amazon procured plug to Starlink mini connector so now I’ll have internet for my flights.

My wife has been busy packing for a cruise that we embark on next Saturday. So, I’ve begun thinking about packing - on Friday. LOL

yet another tooth extraction... starting down the path for implant #9

I'm probably on the slowest path to becoming the $6million man.

So which one of the three were you unable to walk away from?

Contrary to the popular saying, there are grades of bad landings. I humbly submit the following scale for consideration:

Level I. Embarrassment.
Level II. Damage.
Level III. Injury.
