What did you do today?

This afternoon noon I stopped at my airport to put the cockpit cover on my plane. It’s supposed to rain and be quite windy for the next two days. The next chance I’ll have to go flying is Saturday.

Just to annoy the Christmas haters...

 No decor yet, but our tree is up, too. Hopefully tomorrow I will have the energy to get out some of the decorations. We won't be home for Thanksgiving dinner anyway, so there is literally no reason to wait. And we've been enjoying Christmas music and movies since early November because we aren't a bunch of Act 1 Scrooges. :happydance:

I did some tests of masonry anchors in a part of a paver I had left over, and re-discovered why I dislike fastening things to masonry. On the plus side, I learned that impact drivers are *excellent* at snapping tapcons. :)

Closed on a 182 today expanding our club’s fleet to two aircraft. GFC500 / GTN650xi with smart glide button, pitch, roll, auto trim, and a yaw damper.

Second GI-275 PFD on the co-pilot side next to the hard wired Area 760.

450hrs/2hrs SMOH on a 2000hr TBO.

Yes, we are extra thankful this Thanksgiving.

You didn't buy a 182. You bought a 737!

Congratulations! That should be a great traveling bird!

Wha’ happened?

PS Nice bird.

Thanks, The last overhaul was 2 years ago. At that point they exchanged the engine for an O-470 variant that came with a 2000hr TBO instead of the 1500hr TBO, then out 450hrs on it. The previous owner bought a Cirrus and had to sell this one.

I'm sulking for scrubbing a flight into snotty cold rain and likely ILS down to not quite mins. I coulda done it, I've done it plenty before, but my risk/workload tolerances are simply declining with age.

Darn nice skylane there. Please consider moving that club to OAK :D

Relocate to the SAT area and work remotely; once online we’re going to expand by 4 owner shares.

What mount does the Aera use? Is it still easily removable?

OK, in honor of Thanksgiving in the US, I give thanks for having "renewed" my Basic Med and started looking into joining a flying club in the area. Yup, after having flown since 2017, looking at getting back into the cockpit! OK, it may not happen for a couple years, but still...

Agreed. Same for Christmas movies.
In many households, It's traditional to watch "Miracle on 34th Street" on Thanksgiving Day.

I ran the Roswell Running of the Turkeys 5k running race with my elder daughter. Shaved two minutes off of last year's time. Then took the dogs on a one mile trail walk with my younger daughter. Now I'm doing my share of making Thanksgiving dinner. With four capable cooks in the family, each of our share isn't all that much.
