What did you do today?

During the lunch break, vacuum sealed a portion of pork shoulder to try a sous vide version of pulled pork.

I know, breaking all the rules, dogs and cats playing together, etc., but hear me out. I was visiting family in AL a couple of weeks ago, and had baked beans at a bbq place that had pulled pork in it as the pork. It was pretty good... I make baked beans, and I use a lot of bacon in it, but GF doesn't like the chunks of fat in there from the bacon. So I'm trying this as a compromise.

More along the lines of what I did last night.

2: 23am....woke up to massive gun fire.

Went into the living room.

Turned off Tv.

Went back to bed...

Would’ve been a better story if you wrote “Went into living room. Shot TV. Went back to bed.”

Sold a prop that was gathering dust in the hangar. Surprisingly easy.

Checked notams to see if my airport is open yet. Not till Sunday. Going on a week. Sigh.

That woulda made my wife happy. She wants a new Tv. A smart tv, whatever that is...
one that turns itself off to avoid being shot at?

The perceived reason for a smart tv is that it has more features, and can natively stream things because it's connected to the Internet.

The real reason for a smart tv is: so they can charge you more, so it can be connected to the internet, so it can spy on you (not making this up), so it can sell you advertising, so it can be upgraded over the Internet, and so they can try to lock you into the manufacturer's set of options. That all reads like sarcasm, but it is not. It comes down to advertising, collecting marketing data for advertising, and trying to trick people into a subscription for monthly services.

Better choice, in my view, is to get a regular TV and use it as a display for some sort of external streaming device, like Roku. You can do that with a smart TV, too, just don't let it connect to the Internet at all, and connect it hardwired to the external streaming device.

1. Listened to a university radio station with a valley girl sounding DJ with a third grade level of oration skills describe how the ancient Pagans in Ireland transitioned to Catholicism. It was painful to listen to. Yet, she was generally right.

2. It happened again. Another no show at the gym to open the front door. I learned that the exit door, which has no handle, is sometimes left unlocked and it can be grasped by a ledge at the top with fingers. I turned a lot of angry people in to happy people.

3. Went on a walk down by the creek because it was colder and wetter than I would have liked for a ride. And I forgot my phone. I didn't miss it. But it occurred to me that if I did actually have to call somebody, I would be in a bad position because I don't have any useful numbers memorized.

4. Got a burger. The Cranky Old Guy was there with his rotating caregiver getting his strawberry shake. Again, he didn't recognize me outside of biking attire.

5. Determined if I can hit the pub midtown without running into a street closure due to the California International Marathon. I think I'll be good to go.

What I would have given to have one of those this morning (got stuck in the snow in my driveway and had to shovel myself out :D).
It's a 12' pusher which is probably 2 feet too big for my skid steer. But after repairing it the dude never paid a 400 dollar bill. Mine now.

At the house I built a stainless plow with hydraulics for dads UTV. Both are driveways are 350' plus. I ain't shoveling that!

I do have to shovel in front of the hangar now. On the off chance the airport opens for the first time in a week
