What did you do today?

From what I remember and what my wife told me, it was wind, gravity and a trash can.

I remember some really strong strong wind gust. I rounded the corner of the garage, and something hit me in the face. The next thing I remember is saying d*mmit real loud and being inside the can with my wife crying and trying to pull me out. I don't know what got my thumbs. I did retrieve my pistol on the way out but left my glasses.

Injury list... small, minor cut on forehead, one heck of a shiner, sprained neck, pinched nerves in neck, left shoulder sprain, left thumb bone shattered and repaired, left index finger and left middle finger sprain, right thumb bone simple fracture. Lot of soreness all over.

I feel bad for Mrs zeldman. She saw everything and thought it had done me in. I am pretty sure I never lost consciousness and I reported it thst way to the doctor.

I did tell the emergency room folks that it was a good thing I put on clean underwear that morning.
Do you by chance owe a lot of money to the mob? Your list of injuries sounds.. well odd.
Blindsided with a hit to the head. Check
An injured shoulder. Check
Broken thumbs. Check
Waking up in a dumpster. Check
Wife witnessing a “fell down the stairs” type of freak accident to explain it. Check
Recovered the gun you carry but not your glasses. Check
What have you been up too.. lol

Why, what did you hear.......I mean no, of course not...

Cleaned our pool, decided which chlorine generator I’m going to buy to replace the current one that’s developed a non-repairable leak, spoke with a pool contractor about the epoxy coating he applied that’s turning chalky, fading, and the color is coming off on our skin. He shut down the business last year, and unfortunately the warranty is through the dealer rather than manufacturer.

Pondered filling the damn thing with dirt and concreting over it. If it wasn’t for my wife really liking the pool and using it for exercise (she has MS and the pool is a big help), it’d be a no-brainer. I’ve spent less on maintaining airplanes in the seven years here than on the pool.

Go full on Jed clampet style. Stop chlorinating it, install an air stone and order some bluegill, catfish, and bass and make it a little “ce-ment pond”

I did a 22 mile ride. I wanted to do more than a 22 mile ride. But I finished at Mile 22.

Is you ready

That's wild! Of all the things in New Mexico to bite you, garbage can was not on my list

This is about yesterday, because I was too busy, then too exhausted, to post it yesterday.

Woke up at 0500. Drank coffee and placed a superfecta bet on the Kentucky Derby. Mentally prepared myself for the day ahead. Left the house about 0830 to drive 2 hours to the funeral of my grandfather. Left that and drove another hour to take my kid to a birthday party where they had water ballon fights and stuff. All the families from the party then drove 40 minutes to a Chinese buffet. After we left the buffet, I prayed that I wouldn't get sick from either food poisoning or from germs I picked up by simply touching the tongs and and big ass spoons while getting my food. We all left the buffet to drive another half hour and stood in the rain for 2 hours to get into one of the top rated halloween haunted attractions in the country, for their halfway to halloween weekend. We were at least prepared for the rain, with jackets and hats in the car, and proper shoes. So many people were soaked to the bone and not wearing proper footwear for the rain. Left that place at 2230 and drove the 2 hours home. Finally got in the bed about 0130 this morning and checked my twinspires app to see if my bet won, it did not. Watched a little TV to wind down and probably got to sleep about 0230 this morning.

It was a day. Today, I only plan on getting out of my chair for bathroom breaks, and maybe long enough to make a sandwich.

Bought a beefy brushless DC motor, motor controller (ODrive Pro) and Teensy micro controller and have started printing the parts for one quarter of a robot dog.

I’ve always had robot designs bounce around in my head, feels like it’s about time to start getting some of them out

Confirmed my theory once again: given any number of mandrel bends ordered, the quantity required to finish a project will exceed that number by one.

Young Eagles rally is scheduled this coming Saturday. Not putting anyone's kids in the biplane, but I like to fly it to the event and display it on the ramp while I volunteer. Hope the tubing shipment doesn't get delayed again. :cryin:

Ouch! I try not to let the employees find the keys to my Hyster.

Today I took all of our Comcast/Xfinifty devices/stuff back to the local Comcast store and cancelled our account. Comcast "price creep" got to be too much so we switched our Internet provider to T-Mobile with their TMHI (T-Mobile Home Internet) device. My wife and I almost never watch commercial Television anymore, so we do not need regular TV channels.

I went for a bike ride, despite 20 mph gusting to 30 winds. The ride there blew whale penis. The ride back was great. The burger was awesome.

It’s gotta hurt to hit a column that hard. Do they pierce them often?
Id imagine it has to hurt! Depends if they're i beams or square tube columns. Theyll just bend and sever the flanges on I beams. Square tube if they line it up center seem to pierce pretty easily just based on the number of them we repair a year.

One building last year had 66 columns the engineer wanted repaired in some way. One was total replacement. As soon as that job was done a different client had a building with 44. 6 of those 44 needed the building shored up and lower 5 feet removed and sectioned in.

So far today I got peed off from the gym opening late, watched a true crime I've seen three times while I did cardio, submitted an ad, and reviewed a plan set.

Waiting patiently for a 1300 doctor appointment that basically effs up the whole day because it is right in the middle.

I was able to feed myself at breakfast this morning.

Still can't dress myself, though. Buttons and zippers are still a little too much for me.

If you ever make it to rough River, remind me about this, I got a funny story to tell you.

Called COMED as an ongoing issue with the power at work reared its ugly head again. Phase to ground I get 129, 220, 128 volts. Phase to phase I get 229, 262, 259. Line guys kept telling me Im within tolerance and my equipment is overly sensitive. Finally got an EE out and they put in an emergency request to replace a transformer. Only someone had to be here probably a little after 5. No problem. Every piece of 3 phase equipment in the shop is DOA otherwise. My overhead crane is on a step up transformer and has a VFD so thats completely inop as well. Air compressor, CNC plasma likewise. Press Brake and shear work, but with an odd hum, theyre staying off too.

Changed the oil in my truck. The one time I take it in to to get it changed and I can not get the filter off by hand. The proper size filter wrench has gone AWOL. Out comes the hammer and screwdriver. Plugged a hole in the skid steer tire, and printing off plans for a job tomorrow. Its 6:40 and no sign of COMED

I cut out the dress I am sewing to wear to my sister's wedding. You would think after sewing/altering evening gowns and prom dresses all day, I would have enough of fancy dresses, but I just couldn't justify spending the money when I could do it myself.

I did a mid-life refresh on my colocated server. The CPUs and storage were fine, but it was wanting for a little more RAM.

Now I can code in all of the terrible languages in that other thread and be able to suffer the overhead and funkiness inherent with them :D
