What did you do today?

It seems to me that the USB C is a step in the wrong direction, if they are trying to go for water resistance. I suppose they can be made waterproof.

After all that, I realized that the Garmin cycle computer I got a couple years ago had a USB C charging port and I could indeed charge the phone. But we also have an inductive charger too, so I guess the situation isn't that critical.
I am seriously urinated. The piece of s*** adapters was in the wrong direction. I need to hook a non-standard USB C cable into a standard USB port. These adapters were the reverse. Who needs them. I am angst. I hatred. I possess the tools I need but I spent money on tools that don't work.

I agreed to work this evening and some of the weekend to finish a project. I work from home and the weather is crap, might as well make money. Still, not how I wanted to spend Friday night and Saturday. I better be finished by Sunday, when the good weather gets here.

Continued installing my d’shannon baffle kit on the new 550. Installed a new starter adapter (stud pulled out installing kit … grrr). Under the auspices of my mechanic of course.

I played tech support for mom this morning who couldn’t print her church service leaflet. After 10 ish minutes of q&a, descriptions of the pop up screen, and her insisting the printer was on, she walked to the other room to check; it wasn’t. Somehow she turned it off after adding more paper.

Made a list for all the little things we want to change/fix at the cabin before flying home with a 20 kt tail wind. Sorta made up for the same headwind on the way up.

Today? Not much.

Yesterday, however... Took the RV-10 to Dallas(ish) to pick up our son. Ate at the Red Barn near KSLR, refueled, returned with son aboard.

The smoke from the Canadian fires was very apparent on the return leg.

Mistimed everything badly, so we were 5 minutes late for our dinner reservations at my favorite Cajun place.

Must not have blown over Lake Mich yet. Had 70 miles of vis at 7500.

Had an old 275 gallon ibc tote and this weird basket contraption that we used to use for the skid steer. It's 10' to the top. Welded up a skid to fit on top of the basket. Augered some holes in and set up a mini water tower. 17 feet of elevation change from the garden to where the tote is. Plus 10' for the basket and another 4 if the tote is full. Enough pressure to water the garden and fill the goats stock tank.

Filled her up from dad's pond using a Honda pump.

cut my toenails. and some other stuff, but mostly my socks fit better.

I finally mowed the lawn with a brand new EGO electric mower in mulch mode. First use. I like it.
I also used an EGO string trimmer to beat down the 3' high grass and weeds in the way back.

Tried to check my Balance in my checking account. Got a weird popup that said "Circuit Breaker Status, Circuit breaker open" No Bueno on the web site and tech support not open. All was well later but no clue on what the H*** is a circuit breaker on a web site.

Moved furniture out of two rooms for carpet installation tomorrow. Girlfriend is happier now. The final judgement will be after install is complete:biggrin:

That’s how my dad taught me…standing on the hitch assembly of an Oliver 88 (a little taller tractor…this becomes important in the next sentence.) I dumped him off doing a wheelie when I let the clutch out too quickly.

I presume your 12-year-old is a little more coordinated than I was.

Took one daughter up for 1.5 hours (my first passenger in the new plane). Getting more and more comfortable in the plane.

Taking wife across the state in it midweek (1.3 hours each way vs 4.5 hours each way by car). It's going to be 80 degrees and severe clear, so it's perfect for it.

I found a missing 10mm wrench.

Visited two customers. Stopped by CBP at DTW. Grabbed a Tubby's Mushroom Steak and Cheese with everything on it. Popped my IKEA cherry. Cursed at idiot drivers that don't know how to zipper merge for construction lane closures.

Heard an advertisement for a nationwide grocery delivery service using a song about crystal meth as the jingle.

:rolleyes2:

Nauga,
and his third eye

Birthday #36. Couple of Maker's with diet with dad, mom, sister and her friend who's my friends sister at dinner. Perhaps unironically she was the only non family member to text "happy birthday" earlier.

Moment of reflection.... On this day 20 years ago I failed my driver's test. They were not fond of left foot braking. Later that night at the race track I set fast time and won the feature.

Tell me you brought the article or standings sheet in to the retest!

At 16 I didn't have the stones to do that. Needed 20 years and puberty to kick in to pull off that sort of F U maneuver.

Ah, yes. The ol' left foot braking habit that every young gokart racer gets told to drop later in life. My son does it, and I try to tell him to stop as his current ride doesn't require left foot braking. Then he comes around the sharp curve in front of the house, engine screaming, sideways a hell, and he just looks at me the entire time he's drifting by. I figure he'll be alright when the time comes to drive an actual car on a real road.
