What did you do today?

Mowed the lawn. Again. #5 I think already.

Riveted a bunch of nutplates onto the main spar. Like 130. Fears of the wings being tedious confirmed.

Did he bring them in the house?
Nah. Her thing is hunting. Once it's dead she finds me. If I was in the house then she'd have opened the door and brought it in the house. Yes the dog opens doors. Luckily I was outside. Gave it to me. Then she was back to work.

She got one in the drain pipe by the pool while we were eating dinner. And then the other in the woods while I was putting up more fence for the goats. Which is what I did today.

40 years of goat experience here, those goats will get out over the roof. They will get on the beam between the posts in the ten o clock position of the picture and then to the roof if there is secondary fencing to keep them from just going straight over. I have personally seen a group of goats over 35’ up a tree eating the leaves (no exaggeration, a thick grove that a combination of muddy conditions and straight line winds caused many of the trees to lean, you would not believe the angles they can climb or their bravery to jump to the next tree then climb it’s branches).

Wether you realize it or not, this is the skill of there escaping abilities. Wouldn’t have believed it myself if I hadn’t personally witnessed them climbing trees multiple times. A fence is nothing to them if they decide the don’t want to be in inside anymore.

Have had em for 8 years. Aware of their capabilities. Not concerned. Thanks for yours.

I test drove something like 15 cars today.

Finished the last bit of the insulation job on the new van.

Set up a new Iphone, and ordered accessories like a USB C adapter. Thanks, Apple, for not supplying one. You would think that at a minimum, they would give you a USB to USB C cable, but no. Also coming is a case and wireless earbuds.

"We're going to be environmentally friendly by not including the wall wart because everyone has those already. But we're not going to include a cable that fits in any of the ones you have..."

Now, that said, I've found that USB-C PD is far faster and better for charging things, and I avoid plugging into USB-A when I can. So I think it's really a bit more of the old Apple "we're not going to give them arrow keys because we want them to learn how to use the mouse" kind of philosophy. With the added bonus, of course, that they're saving money and making more profit.

Took a kid (19) from work up for his first flight in a small plane. There's boat races on the river and his mom who's a friend was racing. Sent a pic to his mom of him flying with the caption "sorry". She said he looked scared. Nah, thats just that awkward teen smile. Mine never went away.

It seems to me that the USB C is a step in the wrong direction, if they are trying to go for water resistance. I suppose they can be made waterproof.

After all that, I realized that the Garmin cycle computer I got a couple years ago had a USB C charging port and I could indeed charge the phone. But we also have an inductive charger too, so I guess the situation isn't that critical.

Oh man.....I went up on the roof to start getting the swamp cooler ready for summer...totally against SWMBO...

I am gonna be in so much trouble when she gets home from work..

Rearranged east garage stall in the back garage. Cut grass. Off to a flight lesson later.

Watched O'Hare departures for a few hours while doing an install.IMG_1110.jpeg

Is this the SWMBO that has been so helpful to you while you are recovering from injuries?

If so, I am absolutely stunned.

And the cables that they do provide are too short to be really useful! Bah!

This would be the same. I should be ashamed of myself I know, but the temps are hitting the mid 80s so it is time to turn on the cooler.

Someone else will be going up and down to clean the cooler out and replace the pads, and then check for leaks.

Interesting you asked that.

Today I started my plane. It ran. Got some storm cells around so will see if I can fly tomorrow. Progress.
So you got a run, but no rise?
