Unaccommodating instructor during a firefighting operation

Huh. On a completely unrelated note, I wonder if it makes sense to close an airport for pattern work while firefighting operations are underway. Partly I say that because in my experience staying in the pattern at a towered field seems like an optional thing that the controller will permit if workload and traffic allow it. Restricting traffic only to departing and arriving traffic, kinda like I believe I've seen for some other TFRs, seems like a reasonable compromise compared to just closing the airport to anything but FF traffic during operation.
A temporary tower would be preferable to that. Maybe even a remote temporary tower, if such a thing is possible.

If more folks learned the Rodney King lesson life might not be so tough for them i.e. "can't we all just get along?"

I didn't get to see the original video, only what's in the Blancolirio video.

Honestly, I don't see what all the fuss is about. CFI and at least one of the airtankers both spent too much time arguing and not enough time figuring out how to work together. It didn't sound like any of the tankers were impeded by the training flight, or if they were they sure didn't make it clear enough - And maybe if they had, she'd have gotten out of their way, she did say multiple times that she would.

Be professional, work together, and it becomes a non-issue.

Problem solved, MCC now has a "temporary" tower...
Yeah this is what happens when people can't play nicely. So now that CFI screwed herself because you know that with the temp tower, the firefighters are going to get priority so she will get switched to the other runway in the future. I always tell my 12 yr old, it costs nothing to be super nice to someone and many times it's so rare that you end up with perks.

This whole mess (assuming it is factual) is easy to resolve. My brother and I were potting around KPUL years ago and as we were on downwind to land a Horizon Dash 8 was taxiing to take off. He had a schedule to keep, I did not. While I had the right of way, I radioed him that I would to a 360 for spacing and he could go ahead. He was appreciative and took off without delay. I added a few minutes to my logbook. Whoopie. And KPUL is an untowered field.

MCC gets a temporary tower during fire season.

They work from one of those trailer towers, not the old AFB control tower, and aren't really an improvement over CTAF.

I've landed there when the temporary tower was in operation and they wanted me to do a 360 exactly where two C-17s were turning downwind and lost traffic of multiple aircraft in the pattern and vicinity.

Last weekend I'm in line at customer service at a box store. The line I'm in isn't moving, but I'm number 2 in line. The guy in front of me yells something about the service being lousy in the general direction of the staff on the other lines, waits about 30 seconds, then storms off. Now I'm first in that line, just standing there like I've got all day. CS rep walks over, clearly stressed and says "I'm sorry to keep you waiting". I just say "you guys are really busy, not your fault, no rush." She smiles and works through my situation. Turns out I left something out and have to go back to the truck and return.

When I get back, I'm in the back of the line, with about 5 people in front of me. Small sigh. CS rep is helping a woman with something, when she's done she has the next guy in line pause, and motions for me to come forward, and she took care of my CS stuff. Not a bad day.

The box store did not have a control tower. I may have driven off downwind.

And by "people like this" that includes the flight school owner Shane. Saying a bunch of stuff is illegal and dangerous when neither is true. Idiot.
I am late to the party, and the video is no longer available. However, this doesn't sound like the Aero-Sphere I'm flying at. Each of my instructors has me orbit until downwind is clear when we are close to joining the downwind on the 45 and there is traffic on crosswind or downwind that there is a chance we would cut off. Also, the KLMO runway is 29/11, unless you are talking about KEIK, which is 16/34.

I've never seen a water bomber at either airport, and the fires are way to the west, west of the Front Range, in fact; we are east of the Front Range. I've never flown over the Front Range with Aero-Sphere.

I'll eventually get the CFI's story.

Edit.

I looked up KEIK on AirNav. The runway dimensions don't even come close to being the same, and we are in Colorado, not California. Somebody's story doesn't ring true.

BTW, I've landed with a tailwind before. There was wind shear between pattern altitude and the ground. Not a big deal; it just takes longer for the plane to decide it's ready to land (more time in the flare, which is where you learn to land.)

Another Edit.

I don't fly at the Aero-Sphere in Sacratomato, which is where this took place. In fact, I've never flown with Aero-Sphere in Sacratomato, and I've always been impressed with Longmont, CO's Aero-Sphere emphasis on safety. They should not be tarred with the same brush that Aero-Sphere Sacratomato is being tarred with.

Young lady CFI is observing the standard "hobbs rules" and just taught bad judgement to her student.
"Just because you can, doesn't mean you should".

Maybe not disrupted but sure made it less comfortable. Poor Judgement!

Wrong thread?

Sure they should. When the owner publicly backs the CFI and doubles down on the stupid with comments to Juan browne
