the "not worthy of it's own thread" thread

When you tell AI to write your response, be sure to instruct it to at least double the length of their email.
This reminds me of the early days of email when we used to fix spam problem by setting the reply to address to "their email;their email". So as soon as they got it, they sent out two replies to themselves. And they told two friends, and they told two friends... In very short order, their email admin was left with a couple million messages to the owner of the spam account.

True story. A relative of mine had some painting done. He picked the colors. It was reddish pink mauve brown something.
True story.
My parents had a new house built and Mom picked out the colors for the kitchen. Kind of a pinkish beige. My mom didn't usually like pink, but whatever, that's what she picked so the old man said nothing.
After her cataract surgery she gets home: "O. M. G. the kitchen is Pink!!!"

I know a guy who painted a red stripe on his plane, but at the first fly in he went to, it looked hot pink in the sun and everyone relentlessly ragged on him.

Hot take: I'm starting to think that squirrels are but rats with cute cheeks and fluffy tails.

starting? :) Nothing cute about squirrels. Rats that can climb trees and survive with or without people. Like the things on the original Alien movie, but smarter.

Ah, the joys of owning a plane. Had my lower fuel sump drain stop working, A&P replaced the plunger valve. While there noticed a crack starting on the right exhaust manifold. Couldn't be welded / fixed, metal too thin. So replacement it was.

They are very proud of their exhaust stack/exhaust manifold. :rolleyes2:

Eh, that's why you've got an "Airplane" fund for these nice surprises!

hey @Jim K , what's going on here? middle florida, miles and miles and miles of this stuff.

is it coca leaves?

Beats me. If you were flying down low in a little airplane like a real pilot instead of in a tube with the normies maybe we'd have a photo we could work with.

Google Lens thinks it's rice. Google (original flavor) tells me that there is a small but growing (SWIDT?) rice industry in central FL between Okeechobee and the 'Glades, if that's where you were.

ah yes, floridian rice, I should'a known. I'm bringing chop sticks next trip.

We have arm pits, do we have leg pits? That spot behind my knee (knee pit?) is sore today. What a weird place to be sore.

Can you make the same noise with your leg pit that you can with your arm pit?

Who else accidentally created a mental image of how Eman will be doing this ? Maybe we could form a recovery post trauma support group.

Why a parade?

This morning, lying in bed, before sunrise, I hear a piston aircraft go overhead. Then another. Then another. WTF?

A bit sporty at VLL... but overall a crappy day to be flying.

If you are going to use AI to generate you image, shouldn't you use AI to generate an image that has some actual connection to reality. Isn't that the point? Otherwise, just trace around your hand and say it's a turkey...

Or, just use a real image. Not hard to find. Wikipedia comes to mind.

****ing AI ****

That, and what is the deal with over-simplified historical dates and incomplete stories? The worst I saw was “today marks the anniversary of the Vietnam War.”

What actually happened with the USS Langley on November 28, and what year? According to Wikipedia:

Lazy ******** just looking for clicks?

But, speaking of moldy oldy aircraft carriers - The U.S. Navy had two paddle wheel driven (training) aircraft carriers during WW-II. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Sable
