So, 150+ posts to this thread.

    Let's get to it.

how many of you jerks think a kid should never be a professional pilot because of his internet/youtube/keyboard antics while the youtubeheros are bullet proof gods not to be reported for their desire (always denied) to drive clicks and $$ to their channel.

    Hmm... Hard choice, right?

    Play on.

So you've never been in a traffic pattern when the controllers tell you "base approved, you're inside [traffic] on a 5 mile final?

Yes, and I'll turn immediately, but you tell me to look for traffic on a 5 mile final without that instruction, I won't, which is what I thought you meant.

Pretty sure this guy doesn't monetize his videos.

None of the youtubeheros do. Just ask them.

    [Choke, cough, spit]

It's all about the love of sharing..... **** I can't even type the crap anymore.

If for no other reason, he can use the proceeds to pay for the script about how he doesn't care about the money, right?

The YouTube heroes are not my heroes, but I selectively enjoy some of their vids, on rare occasion.
I could throw the switch for the kid's electric chair, be sure I did it right, and go out for a glass of wine afterwards.

Yeah. I said that. Y'all drive a bus lately?

Interesting: this thread involving a guy making zero infractions has165 posts. The thread about the dip**** busting the Vegas Bravo only has 156. Very telling.....

I personally don’t have a problem with Micaiaiahahaaiha being a pilot as long as he’s proficient and doesn’t endanger others lives while being one. But he won’t be making many friends if he keeps running to the FAA crying foul on fellow aviators.

I have youtube premium, I don't see ads. So I don't know, if a youtuber doesn't monetize do you still see ads?? I mean you non-premium folk.

It is plausible that he doesn't need the money, the guy flies his own jet, but what do I know?

Pffft. There was nothing condescending about his reply to the kid. It was a cogent and informative response. Get a grip.

I would, or at least get some kind of royalty every time someone views the footage that shows YOUR hangar.

    You're really an odd sort.

Do you not know that clicks drive revenue, even when the "clicker" doesn't have to watch the ads?

How do you think YT decides how many ads to place? Clicks from the paid "ignores" already are in the formula, since you've paid them.

But hey, there's plenty of youtubeheros on PoA that can describe the process, if they were to choose to do so, which they wont.

Between this and your criticism of the $30K Cherokee video, you come off as an infantile whiner. Maybe you shouldn't watch YouTube videos.

What's odd about what I said? In order to make money a youtuber has to monetize his channel, if it's not monetized he doesn't make any money. He's said before he doesn't monetize his channel, you seem to know different, please share.

Every one of them swears they don't. And it being the internet and all, it must be true, hey? And in this case Greg says in this video he doesn't NEED the money, not that he doesn't accept the money.

Thanks for your insightful comment. <- THAT is sarcastic if you didn't know.

That's this video, he's said it on other videos, that he doesn't monetize. Maybe he's a liar, I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. But that's me.

Golly jees... just because he doesn't say Like, Subscribe, and Share in every single video, like the others do, doesn't mean he isn't ACTUALLY taking the money.

And BTW, he's by no means the primary YTH here. I don't know if he even has an account here. At least his videos are posted by someone else.

The others come only to puke their clickbait. And yes, @3393RP - I'm talking about a $30k Cherokee Six

I am just not sure where do go with this. I would guess that you are from New Jersey but that would insult those from New Jersey. So I am going to guess that you are president of a HOA or condo association. I also think that you are jealous that P1D flies million dollar jets And that people like him.

What was the point of this post? I mean if you didn't know where to go with my post, I'm surely not going to be able to point you in any sort of direction if you dont know why you're responding.

Also, not from NJ or president of an HOA or condo association but thanks for playing.

There are a hundred other hypotheticals that could happen in the span of 5 seconds; you call it splitting hairs and nonsensical but most of the regs are written to try and address as many of those hypotheticals as they possibly can or are based on hypotheticals that have become reality. I mean having a fuel reserve is a good safety measure and a requirement under the regulations but is it not built on the hypothetical (proven factual many many times) that you might be delayed and might exhaust fuel? After all, we dont REALLY need a reg to tell us having fuel is a good idea, do we? Yet enough pilots have exceeded that hypothetical for it to warrant its own regulation about how much extra fuel to have on board (and even then people have exceeded that hypothetical too).

And yes, flightchops activities can be mildly annoying, as in irritating, miffed, displeasing or peeved. I've been watching him since early on in his youtube career so I can be and am happy for him and his success but still be miffed about the opportunities that it opened up for him. Yes that's my jealousy talking but it is still an annoyance/irritation. I begrudgingly accept the activities he's able to take part in as a direct result of his success. Honestly though I kind of liked him more when he was just a guy with a camera making video debriefs for himself; it was easier to picture myself in his shoes. SwayneMartin is another one, especially in his early videos, where he's had opportunities not available to many. Some of those videos are among my favorite youtube flying videos; doesnt mean I dont sometimes watch them and think "I hate him."

As to P1D, I stated that I hadn't seen him before. That doesnt mean I haven't watched a handful of his videos. Unfortunately, despite my efforts not to let his comments and 13 minute diatribe in which he was condescending and openly denigrating of a junior/aspiring pilot and named names to his followers, I'm finding it hard to find videos where I dont get a sense from him of a being above the rest of us. So right now, I'm basing my opinion of him on the handful of videos I have watched which sadly started with a rather large negative. Perhaps that is negatively influencing my judgement of him overall so I'll try again in a few days and see if my opinion has changed any but I find the whole situation distasteful.
