If a post is more than about five sentences, I usually won't read it all. How about you?

Depends on the subject matter.

Long winded "Lessons Learned" and I'm outta there.

It could be 2, or it could be 12+.

Depends on the topic being discussed and how well written the post is. We have some rather eloquent writers on this board. We also have some that can bore you to tears with less than one sentence.

JMHO,

Mike

It would be based on subject matter and who the poster is as much as length.

Well, I gotta admit, I probably make it through about 5% of Nate's diatribes...if that much...

Won't go past twelve unless they grab me in the first few lines.

I spend a lot of time on here reading. If I'm learning something and the posts are relevant I have read pages. If it gets real off topic or political and isn't making me laugh I'm out.

33% of the readers here already know how to answer your question before they read the post, so why read it all?
33% of the readers here will read into the question what isn't there, thus give the wrong answer.
the other 33% will think you are asking something different than what was wrote. then get angry that you didn't ask the right question.

For me, it's more about the subject matter. There are quite a few threads I don't even open (unless someone has reported a bad post). :mad2:

If I find the subject interesting, the length doesn't matter too much as long as it's well-written. I choke on run-on paragraphs, though.

I sometimes read Nate's posts all the way through, unless they are about IT or ham radio. :D

100% of statistics in the above post are made up.

All depends on how long I'm going to be in the bathroom. Amirite?

It doesn't matter. Some folks quit reading it after the first 33%.

Excellent point. Many readers have good judgement...of course many posters don't bother to be readers...maybe because they think they are the only ones with the correct answer...

What about the remaining 1%. What do they do?

I hide all the good stuff at the end. ;)

If the poster doesn't bother with any cr/lf or whitespace, I might not make it past the first couple of lines.

I read the first line of every post. If I am intrigued, I read on. If not, I skip and only go back and read more if someone quotes them and the quote looked interesting
