Who has the "Main central cabin" this year? Where do we deposit our shareable snacks and what not?

We got cabin 71 reserved (least amount of steps for Jill). I think Dana has another one next door (or near).

I've been quite absent from the fly-ins this year but am looking forward to joining everyone. I'll be arriving Sat afternoon and departing Sunday. I'll take a look at the sign up to see what's what.

Anyone need a cottage?? Got to back out and too late to cancel. Sue had a fall and developed a brain bleed. Don’t know yet what treatment’s going to be, but pretty confident we won’t be flying on Friday. We’re both disappointed.
Lance, sorry to hear this. We're praying for a swift recovery.

So as this weekend approaches, I keep thinking about what I need to bring, besides just normal travel stuff. Do we need to bring any food, or chairs, or anything else or is everything we need readily available at Gaston's? Looking forward to meeting everyone, and sorry to see some people had to bow out for various reasons.
The provided toiletries are a bit meh. They don’t provide coffee (just the maker) for the cabins, so I make sure to bring some I like. Otherwise, there are some outdoor elements if you choose, like fishing, so prepare for any of that stuff. And if you bring a lot of stuff, they will provide a van to get you from plane to cabin, but a folding wagon will do if you want to walk it. The cabins are well equipped for cooking, and the restaurant is pretty good but rather expensive, so we lean towards grilling/pizza.

Yep, we’ll be neighbors. Someone who hasn’t chimed in (much) has a confirmed functioning plane and is in the other half of the cabin.

I don’t see grillables on the sign up sheet. Anyone bringing those? Charcoal?

Better option than grilling over burning leaded Av Gas.........

That’s pretty pricy nowadays. Sadly, 100LL at Gaston’s is about the same price as my home airport

I misread that. I thot that said ‘hookers and blow’ but that’s the *other* fly-in!
I have no idea how that happened…

Charcoal and chimney would be good. My plan b was to grab wood from the fire places.

For those reading NOTAMs, BPK has self and full service 100ll, which would mean only self serve is unavailable. That said…do your own research and have reserves.

I’m sorry to hear that, you are both in my thoughts and wishing a speedy recovery.

I just wrapped up my trip. Going to hop in the plane shortly and make my way up to Gaston's from Dallas.

Think I'll probably go to Baxter County so I can use the courtesy car to pick up some items from grocery store, then shuttle it in. Planning to get some brats/hotdogs and the fixins for em. Plus beer. Always beer.

Updated the list, arriving later today, let me know if anyone needs a flight review ;)

So does Gaston's have BBQ's? If we bring something to grill do they have facilities? If so, do we have to bring grilling equipment and charcoal? I know I'm gonna end up missing so many things I should bring lol.

Ah, I have competition…

Jill and I should arrive Friday around 12 to 1pm.

Getting crowded I guess. I will be giving checkrides. If anybody needs an endorsement or type rating just let me know

They have Weber kettles. And use the last column on the signup sheet. If no charcoal already, then please bring some. That stuff doesn’t go bad. I think we got around 18-20 folks coming, so we don’t need to be bathing in burgers and dogs, like most years. :p Otherwise, don’t sweat it. It’s meant to be fun and if something is missing, we didn’t need it or they’ve got a store with some basics too.

Signup sheet

Will arrive and overnight tie down in Baxter Sat. via a stop Friday in Shreveport for grand nieces birthday party. Depart Sun. No self service fuel there because someone ran over the hose. Moteling in Mountain Home. Should make it to Gastons by mid afternoon. I'll watch here if you need something from town. Previous day trips to Gastons many moons ago were non events but plan B this time.

I never got around to booking a stay- would there be a good time to pop in maybe for lunch or something and say hi?

Arrived to Baxter too late to get a courtesy car... So I'm empty handed for the time being. Will pick up any needed supplies tomorrow!

I got brats and dogs. I didn't quite have enough buns to accommodate them all so could use more buns
