If your tastes run towards chewing on a salt lick. Ate there once and it took refilling my glass about 5 times to get the salt taste out of my mouth.
 
I'm a regular not only for their great burgers, but for their ethical way of doing business. Refreshing to see a company succeed by doing quality food, treating your employees and customers well. So simple, but most companies go for greed.
 
Look forward to trips out west for these tasty things. Double-Double, no tomato, fresh onions, and a Neapolitan shake for me.
 
When I'm out that way, it's a double double animal style for me...
 
I love that place, no other fast food burger compares.
 
I must have missed something when I went there. Burger was kinda 'Meh'
 
...and yet another reason I love In-N-Out...they are not beholden to Wall Street stockholders to produce the crappiest product possible just to increase margins.
 
I like Inn & Out fine, but it's not my favorite. Habit Burger is hands down my favorite chain burger place. I usually rotate between Habit, Carl's and Inn & Out for lunch time burgers. And it's not that I particularly dislike BK, Jack in the Box and even McDonald's, they just don't do the lettuce wrap thing. Inn & Out does, and does it well. Carl's does it reasonably well. Habit does it great.
 
At first I thought this was going to be a review for a porno movie.....
 
I prefer Joe's Burger Shack reconstituted grain-fed burgers (the first time anyway) myself.

In-N-Out needs to come to NY. Long Island just had its first Chick-fil-A open up close to a year ago and now they're opening another one 5 minutes away from my house!

I agree, never could understand what all the fuss was about. So-so burgers, limp soggy fries and the same beverages as anywhere else in the united states and abroad. When I lived in L.A I ate at three or four different locations and it was always the same.

I was in Helena Montana last weekend for a business function and we went to the little town(village) of York, to the York bar and had one of the worlds best burgers! Handmade beef patty with grilled onions!! That was without a doubt the best burger I have ever had in my life.
 
I don't think you can compare Inn & Out to an independent place that does really great burgers. And we have a few around here. I think it's one of the better chains though, despite the limited menu.

Habit is also very good. I'd say In N Out, Habit then Fatburger, personally.
 
What about slater's 50/50. 1/2 ground bacon, and 1/2 ground beef.. yum!
 
The enviroment inside In n Out is partially what makes it so unique. Very retro feeling and the burgers are the best fast food burger money can by IMO. The only close second is Shake Shack.
 
In&Out no better than Five Guys IMO. Although Five Guys fries are mucho better.
 
I was severely disappointed with Five Guys. It's about twice the price of Inn & Out for the equivalent amount of burger. And they didn't put any condiments on my burger even though I asked.
 
Five Guys is pretty good but the prices are a little steep. I think I paid close to 15 dollars for a bacon cheeseburger, fries, and a drink
 
5 Guys is my go to. Never had a bad burger and the Cajun fries are awesome. It is a bit pricey though.

I was too, the fries are good, but the bag they come in looks like it was thrown in the frier along with the fries. I won't go back.
 
I'm a Five Guys guy. In-N-Out didn't do anything for me.

Apples and Oranges in my book. Yup, I agree Habit is a better burger but I put In-N Out in the Fast Food category and compare to Jack in the Crack and BK Lounge while Five Guys, Habit and Smash Burger I put in the the Quick Serve category which is a different sets of expectations for me.
 
When they come to the east coast,then we can evaluate the burger. Red robin is a great adult burger joint.
 
When out at Oshkosh, I was advised to try Culver's. Judging just by the burger itself (and not the ice cream, chicken strips, etc.) I'd say that Culver's is good, but In-N-Out is still superior by my palate.

Now about those chicken strips at Culver's... I'd take a pass on those. The Kwik Trip Supermarket/Gas Station chicken nuggets (at least the ones in Green Bay) were seriously good and better/cheaper than Culver's.
 
Saw Culvers for the first time last week on a stop at St. George, Utah. Pretty good overall, very nice, friendly people. The fries were terrific.

If you're in the Northwest, try Burgerville -- based in Vancouver WA, with outlets along the I-5 corridor between Albany, Oregon, and Centralia, Washington.
 
The thing about In-N-Out isn't the overall quality, but rather the quality for a given price. I can get a burger combo at In-N-Out that is cheaper than McDonald's, Wendy's, Burger King, etc, and it's a much better meal. There are definitely better burgers out there, but for about 6 bucks for a combo, I don't think you'll find anything that comes close.
 
The burgers are good but whatever oil they use for the fries, has a negative effect on both myself and wife, let's just say OUT happens fast if you know what I mean

Liquid plumber doesn't work as fast
