Holy CRAP...where has this been my entire life?

Not the type of conversation I thought I'd be having on the internet today.
Me either! :D

To answer the question, in my experience a couple squares to dry with and you're good to go. Unless you're *ahem* "posteriorally gifted" it's not like there's a large enough surface area to need more.

Also, FWIW, there's a whole subreddit dedicated to this topic that I found when researching what to put in our house.

Reality is just a "pat" with some TP to dry off but can be much less TP than the typical wipe. If you wipe the freshly spritzed wet bum, then yeah some TPs start breaking apart wight away.

They say everyone should learn at least one new thing every day. Mission accomplished.

I got a BioBidet seat for my wife years ago as a birthday present (nothing says I love you like a toilet seat). After 20+ years the thing finally gave out and I replaced it with another. We have a second seat in another bathroom.

Yeah, the thing has a fan to dry you off. I guess if you wanted to sit there for ten minutes you might get fully dry, but I just use a small amount of TP (less than I would if I hadn't washed).

Now a downside and I expect all of the bidet owners to chime in on this....

Using any other hotel/public toilet is now an awful experience by comparison.

Also it's not just for using the restroom you're out mowing your yard and you get swamp ass guess what, you don't have to take a shower you can just clean your ass.

I'm just kidding I haven't mowed a yard in 20 years but I hear you can get pretty sweaty doing that.

But there are definitely times you stop in for a rinse just because you can.

100% this. If staying in a hotel then the inexpensive "travel" ones are okay.

I might've said "ew, I gotta use just paper" once or twice. This topic deserves a Youtube video, btw. :)

There is a "massage" button on it but I'm not clicking it.

That's where I draw the line. I don't want to find out that I like that.

That’s what you said last time. I saw it in one of your videos.

Call me old fashioned but aren't baby wipes a whole lot easier? Requires no installation! Travel packs available.
Just don't flush the damn things no matter what the package says.

So this thread inspired me to finally order a toto washlet. One impulse order to lord bezos and 2 hours later it shows up at my door. Initial review, seat is comfortable, the heated feature is great automatically comes on when you raise the lid. The undercarriage cleaning works shockingly well once you get the angles and velocity tuned right(can range from gentle stream to peel the paint off the walls) and the water can range from cold tap to a bit too hot depending on your preference. The warm air dryer takes care of any water pretty quick, then when your done and away it does a self cleaning cycle.

I'm 200% sold, it works great, easy to use and using TP alone feels barbaric now. Only thing is I wish I would have sprung for the even more pricy one that automatically raises the lid when you approach.

Whoa, $400-650 for a toilet seat? The DoD ain’t got nuthin on you guys.

I was raised by depression era parents, that’s just way too much of a spend for me for a friggin toilet seat.

This sounds high falutin' for a forum full of cheap pilots. Wouldn't a $5 garden sprayer from HFT do the job? You might already have one to deice your plane in winter.
This is in the men's room at the Kuwait City airport. A middle-eastern bidet!

We have a stand alone bidet in our master bathroom. Our pup thinks it is a dog fountain. Sometimes it is...

I spend that kinda money every year on Jepp IFR data for my in-panel navigator, which gets used a couple dozen times a year. The bidet is a one-time expense that will last for years and it gets used daily. ‍<shrug>

This is pretty much the standard bathroom in Greece. They expect you to use the dish sprayer and not flush toilet paper.
You must have stayed in a fancy neighborhood. I bet they had hot water...

Man, some of you folks are living uppity...

Note the cleaning brush in the upper right corner.

Don't get me started on Jepp & Garmin selling us for hundreds & thousands the data our government tax dollars paid to generate and validate and handed to them for the cost of a digital copy.

You want to fly an RNAV approach? Not till you pay the GARMIN toll...

I'm ashamed to admit I never learned how to use these things. I went Ugly American and moved rooms to the Radisson when presented with one of those in Turkiye, and pulled the Costanza Delay in the middle east. Luckily my bluff was never called. I just see too many avenues for failure -- foot placement, ankle twisting out, falling over due to underdeveloped haunch muscles... Having not been raised by Kalahari Bushmen, my skills at adopting the correct posture for that thing do not exist and it terrifies me in a primal way. Also wtf do you do with your PANTS? like... I have no bombardier training either.

So I guess now I can admit empathy with the bidet haters in here :D

GF has one and absolutely loves it. I use the other bathroom with the standard poop, wipe, flush model.

We are still together though in all other aspects. Nobody has a perfect match.

The Q&A made that for me.

I could have asked that question. Only slightly tongue in cheek.

The idea to remove pants entirely makes me feel that I have made the right choices to date in avoiding those. :D Will reconsider when I have a series of Djellabas in my closet.

What you really need is one with a Bluetooth/WiFi/NFC connection to your phone where upon it will restore your desired temperature/pressure settings.

My first experience with a squatty was co-ed, and had no dividers. Just urinal on one wall, holes on the end. I was in the middle of a pee, and a lady came in and used a squatty. I immediately thought that I was in the wrong gabinetti, then realized the I ending was gender neutral, but O for men, A for women.

Italy, and the place was historic, from the early Roman days.
