How 'bout a thread for beer with airplanes on the label?

I'll shamelessly start with my own homebrew from a few years ago (yes, there's a story):

    Inversion Ale.jpg

The beer I bought last week that inspired this thread (not bad but not spectacular):

And one I bought today (quite nice):

Just a couple blocks up St. Johns Road from my old law office in Vancouver WA is a nifty little brewpub called "Victor 23", named for the airway that passes through the Battle Ground VORTAC just north of town. As this was the county in which D.B. Cooper made his jump into history, the place is decorated in a Cooper theme (tagline: "Where Craft Beer and Grand Larceny Meet"). Among its microbrew products are "Flight 305 Amber", "IFR Imperial Stout", "P-Factor Hazy IPA", "Mile High Blonde", "Hop & Hope IPA", "Skyjacker IPA" and "Schaffner Pilsner" (Florence Schaffner was the FA to whom ol' DB handed the hijack note).

Brewed in my old home turf. One of my favorites.

I was just going to post about that. I have an empty on top of the fridge in the kitchen. Fairly decent ale, too. The other bottle I have is Lancaster Bomber. Best of British. Extra Special Bitter. It was good, too. Got those about 6 years ago.

Then, last year in Bastogne we had Airborne. Blond beer. Has an airborne trooper on the label, sold in a mug that looks like a helmet. I can't imagine why Bastogne would have such a thing for the 101st Airborne. :p

Nice brewery where I grew up started by retired AF pilots. Most of the beers are connected to flying somehow. Worth a stop if you’re in the area.

I had the ‘Rock Your Wings’ beer at Oshkosh. I’m not real picky, but didn’t think is was all that great.

Connecticut Valley Brewing uses a Corsair for their logo: https://www.ctvalleybrewing.com

Over the past couple years they’ve also featured a number of other aircraft on their cans

I remember reading about that place before it opened a few years back. The Grand Opening was coming soon. Never did go and pretty much forgot about it. Shame on me. I'll be back with a status report on it soon. Thanks for the reminder

Alaskan Pilot series, Denali Single-Engine red.

One of the breweries used to have the “Bush Pilot blonde” but I can’t remember which one.

In the wine department, there are the products of Airfield Estates winery, walking distance from the airport at Prosser, Wasington (S40). The winery is on the site of a WW2-era Army Air Corps training field.

On our visit there a few years ago I bought a pewter wine bottle stopper in the shape of a Cessna T-37.

Gotta give a shout-out to our entrant in this category: Flyte Co Brewery in Denver https://flyteco.beer/flyteco-craft-beers/

    FlyteCo.jpg

They're a bit far for me personally, so it's more of a special aviation occasion when I go. (I'd have to drive too far, past dozens of other good craft breweries, but I've always had a very good experience every time I visited.)

The owners are active private pilots, and the brewery has a very nice aviation theme. They've painted runway markings on the floor and built a very nice faux-airplane fuselage inside. They also have aviation art on the walls, primarily by local aviation photographers. (Heck yeah, we all want our stuff up there!)

Beers include: Fresh Hop is My Copilot Saison, Fresh Hop KAPA IPA, Beechcraft Blonde, This is Your Hefe Speaking (tastes even better than the great name!), Fog Delay Hazy IPA, C5 Galaxy Double IPA, Skywagon Red Ale, and more.

My instructor gives all his students a copy of Wind Sand and Stars after their check ride. He's also an IPA fan so I see a good reason to drop in on my next trip up to the NE and pick him up a 6-pack (well, and it would be silly to pick up just one :D )
