My stec 60 works great except for VS. I hold the desired vs, (ascending or descending) engage the vs button, and the plane instantly descends at about 1000 fpm regardless of the rate I have set or whether I was climbing or descending. It is like the vs is hung on -1000. Any ideas?

Has anyone here installed the aerovents? I have a 74 cessna 182 with the pull out tube type vents. I flew in a late model 182 with the new vents that the aerovents are modeled after. They are great. The price is ridiculous but i am interested in some feedback from anyone who has installed them.

Does the garmin 430 have a trip log like the garmin 496. The 496 shows the last 30 flights (airport, time, etc).
