    Little windy in NJ today

At Central Jersey Regional (47N) we had a L-19 break free and land on a Cherokee. And a C-150 that was trying to taxi from one spot to another get lifted up and thrown into a gully by an aproxx 60 kt gust. The 150 is most likely totaled after prop strike and wing and fuselage damage.

How many hours it take you to solo?

My instructor put an entry in my logbook at 8 hours saying I was qualified to solo, but I didn't solo until about 150 hours. That first entry was at age 14, and I had to wait until the morning of my 16th birthday to solo. It sure seemed like forever waiting for that day to come.

    Grumman aa1b operating costs.

I disagree, a few were used as trainers. Most were bought as first airplane purchases and were used for local flying and some shorter cross countrys.

    Grumman aa1b operating costs.

I owned both a B and C model. now have a Tiger. The Grumman's are very low on maint, and what others have stated above is pretty much right on. Fly it by the numbers and stay on top of your airspeed and you will have a blast. Flying these will make you a better pilot when you step up to...

(47N) Central Jersey Regional, No landing fee, 10.00 per night parking, fuel is currently 3.90 per gallon. Short cab ride to train station, take train to NYC. You may even find one of the regulars hanging around that will give you a ride to the train. Good luck in your travels.

    battery operated control line airplane

In 1973 at age 14, I worked in a flight school. I brought my Vertibird in on rainy days and guys used to line up to fly the thing for 10 cents for 5 minutes. We used upside down Dixie cups as elevated platforms to land on. So much fun and great memories. Mike G (47N)

    Class D Procedure

Most locals just keep a tight pattern when near the D. I think there is a local agreement to do this and not call Caldwell. They can be busy at times and dont need the extra radio calls. Just dont stray to far off the end of the runway at Lincoln Park. Agree with Ron, Sunsetters is great place...
