We left Livingston,Tx (00R) wed. July 1. Stopped in Pensacola (82J) great little FBO with cheap fuel and car. Went and had lunch, looked at coast. Mark one off the bucket list NOW with photos I made the trip to the Bahamas with my family. We flew 2100 miles in the T206H. One of the greatest experiences I have had since getting my ticket. I will add pics when I get them downloaded. Thanks to everyone who helped me plan. Our route...

Oil change interval for turbo engine??

Thanks for all the replies. I will work through each suggestion made and update. Compressions all mid -high 70's one was low 70's and mechanic said it can be aligned rings and it could come back up??? It will blow out anything over 9 qt., after that belly stays "marginally clean" I fly...

Oil change interval for turbo engine??

I'm flying a T206H with a TIO-540 790 ttsn. The engine uses zero oil for first 12-15 hrs. after change then starts using about a qt. every 2-3 hrs. Is this normal? I am changing every 25 hrs., is this sufficient? Thoughts?? Thanks, Jon

    Livingston, TX to Orlando, Fl

I think we can make KTLH if we get high with a tailwind, plus that route takes us over lots of alternates. I think KISM makes great sense too. Thanks guys, Jon

    Livingston, TX to Orlando, Fl

The family is headed to Orlando for Forth of July weekend. We are starting 00R (Livingston). ADS-B question

I'm installing a Garmin GDL 88 instead of active traffic, and I know by 2020 most of us will have ADS-B out. My question is until then, will my system display mode c traffic as well? Anyone flying with the system? What do you think?? Thanks, Jon

To go glass or not..that is the question?

I guess you are touching on some of my concerns. Money in the bank/market isn't doing anything. I know you don't have a crystal ball, but consider keeping and flying both 600 hrs. over next 5 yrs. (kids leave and me and momma get a faster plane) which one depreciates more??? 2000 going from...

To go glass or not..that is the question?

I recently settled on and bought a 2000 T206H with 730 tt. I have put 60 hrs. on the plane and I love it. Changed the oil twice, both sampled perfect so I think I got a good one. I am thinking about upgrading the kln94b to a GTN750. I would also like to add 800 active traffic. This will cost...

Took a kid up for his first flight; disappointed.

First of all I want to say "great job" for sharing aviation with youth. I had a girl friend when I was 17 who's dad was a pilot. He took me up for a flight and in that moment, I decided I would one day fly. Just yesterday I shared my love of flying with nephews......
