PoA tech support

It's automatic. The info its pulled from flight aware and pushed to POA.

That's not really true but it would be cool

Wait a sec, I had to install a $1400 box into my plane so that it would uplink the landing data. I think it was a Garmin LTX Landing Transducer.

Are you saying that it's automatically pulled from FlightAware now?!?! Do you still need a landing transducer or can they just pull it from your squawk code?

I think the box is better because it is more accurate and doesn't count touch n goes but Jesse has an API that ties your POA account to flight aware and does the map for you. Normally he charges $300 but he told me he would waive the fee if I sent him a picture of my junk.

I'm pretty cheap so I did it.
My map still doesn't show up. I have probably sent him like 50 pics by now he swears it should show up any time now.

He's probably still trying to zoom in enough to see it.

BOOM!

;)

Jon

Hahaha sorry. I forget sometimes that this isn't my blog.
Really you can go to sites that build the map and generate the image and then you copy the link to your signature

This reminded me to update mine.

Welcome!!! Tell us more about you and your flying...

Do you mean me??? Ok, I am a relatively new pilot, PP in 2013, about 330 hours now, got my flying time in for my instrument, studying for the written (Kinda did that backwards, didn't I???), Own my 67 Arrow, Bought it before I had finished my PPL, Fly whenever and wherever I can with my wife and dog, or whoever else wants to go. I also fly with my buddy in his C210T whenever he wants to go somewhere(medical problems). My dad had a 62 c172 when I was about 15, 32 years ago. He had financial problems and had to sell it, so I didn't have a chance to learn to fly then. In about 2004 a good friend of mine learned to fly and had a cherokee 180. First time up with him, he threw me in the left seat and said, your going to learn to fly today. We went up a few times and I was planning on taking lessons in his plane. He ended up flying in an ice storm and died in 2006. That slowed me down for a while until I got the bug again.
