I took off about 30 minutes after they did from RYY in Atlanta. Atlanta center ask me to listen for an ELT and look for smoke in a certain area. The weather was VMC, with a moderate chop. Sobering and sad.

I own a SR22. Had it for a year. I went from a Cherokee 180 to the 22. I love the plane. It does land on a slightly lower profile, but ground effects much like my 180 did. The side stick was a no brainer adjustment, but I am a lefty, so I think that helped me. 80 knots is the standard full flap...

I have the iPad and fore flight . There both great, but don't expect the to replace a 496 or true flight GPS. 3000 ft or higher and the cell is hit or miss

I owned a 74 Cherokee 180. Loved it! Great airplane. Gotta respectfully disagree on the 172 preference. Stable ,forgiving.......flair on the landing feels different, with a little more ground effect than a 172.......enjoy !
