Lunch - What'd You Have?

Oh no, I did not take the pic. I stabbed it off of Yelp. I would have liked a more recent one, but yes, lovely ladies, so alluring, so beautiful, they make me so happy.

Happy? Happy? You ****ing kidding me!

Pho.

Salmon, rice, black beans, broccoli. Something I threw together quick off the bar at WF.

About time you ate something healthier! Although all the other food looks better and I know tastes better. :)

Thanks. lol.

That pho is actually pretty good itself though. I hadn't eaten there or had any in almost a year. The 'problem' is tomorrow I'm supposed to fly and the BBQ joint is on the way to the airport and back. Kinda hard to resist...at least for me. :D

That looks good but agonizingly small. Pho, however, is one of the few Vietnamese dishes that tastes the same here as it does over there. Bahn Mi? No, they don't replicate it here but it isn't really a traditional Vietnamese food either, at least prior to the late 1800's.

I hate soup, generally, but Pho soup I like. It's weird that in a country that gets to 95 degrees and 100% humidity they eat pots of boiling water for dinner, but they do. When I'm there I might have it for breakfast, but not lunch or dinner if I can help it.

They actually have 3 sizes. That is the smallest. I put that basil and bean sprouts in it, and the few jalapeño slices they give you, and add a little siracha to make it spicy too. They have another that looks like pho but very spicy broth and pork in it instead.

Yeah yeah, we know what you have for dinner every night over there. ;);)

Haha well the actual dinner thing looked a lot like this. Those are giant prawns (well, those specifically are little giant prawns) but they were super yummy and tasty. As to the other thing... we need to keep that on the D&L.

Yes sriracha is a fundamental ingredient. The Vietnamese aren't big on pork in pho (they love "Thit Heo", or literally meat of pork, but not in soups generally. Most pho is bo pho (beef pho) or ga pho (chicken pho.) Seafood isn't found in pho's since the base stock is not conducive to seafood. They do however have seafood hot pots.

I just at a sausage McMuffin with egg at nearly 1AM. Because I’m just now driving home from work. Can’t decide if it’s lunch, dinner, or breakfast. Don’t care. :)

Part of why is “don’t ask”. I want to slap an engineer at Ubiquiti.

The other half is I got a very cool AWS Lambda thing working to fix a messy DNS problem in our design that I started seeing after we got all done with our final move to AWS.

Looking at firewall logs thinking, “that’s not right...”

Anyway. Long day. Going home now.

Ahh call it brunch. :dunno:

Lunch yesterday - chili mac, chichken gumbo, salad and an orange, courtesy of the Naval Station Norfolk. Attended a plaque dedication there yesterday and they gave us a great tour of the base and the USS Abraham Lincoln. Pictures when I can get them posted.

I eat more meals at home than I eat out. Preferred that way.

Sac? Thoughts?

I'm not even sure alcohol could get me in that situation. I take ALL of the paper wrapping off my burgers before eating them. I do not understand how some people can eat around the paper without eating it. I could make a rant out of it.

Do some of you people eat out every meal?

I almost always eat out for lunch. In fact, at the burger place, I've had more than one person state to me that I am there every single time they have been.

It's still technically breakfast time, but I'm starved for lunch. I feel bad about eating lunch early, it's like drinking before noon.

Not lunch, but I just finished getting an early dinner ready.

@denverpilot just needs to change this thread to "What did you have to eat today?". Most of the ones I post are more dinner/supper than lunch anyway. :D

Went to a place called Mad Greek today with the wife. Gyro. Spanakopita. Hummus. Feta cheese. Black olives.

No pictures.

Huh. Always thought it was normal to start boozing before noon. :dunno:

Just going to “pre-post” my lunch photos this week. LOL. Saves time. Plus it’s Sunday evening cooking for the week, day.

Parmesan crusted chicken cutlets and a pot roast. It was hiding at the bottom of the Le Creuset so I had to get it to do a side selfie.

Got the pot roast as a buy one get one free so one is in the freezer. That doesn’t suck.
