Without looking, who knows what this symbol on the VFR Sectional Chart means?

Not sure if it's new for today's cycle, but it isn't mentioned in this section of the AIM yet.

Also, it wasn't on the sectional a year ago.

The Colorado ones are part of a state project that started back in 2000 to improve aviation weather reporting at commonly-flown mountain routes. Funds appropriated by the state legislature were combined with funds from the state aviation fund. Taking Dakota Hill as an example, the route - this one near an airway, is standard from metro Denver into to northern Colorado Rockies with access to places like Steamboat and Vail and beyond. Didn't know it.

I do wonder if it only tracks cameras operated by the FAA or NWS or some other .gov entity, or if any generic airport/awos camera counts. And will they list the wx cam link in the chart supplement, or are they saying "google it"?

It used to be, maybe still is, that some hang gliding and paragliding launch and landing sites had webcams pointed at the windsock so you could see what it was doing before packing up and driving to the launch.
