N.O. Saints loose after no-call on pass interference with under two minutes to go. Must have been some pretty cheerleaders to distract the ref that much.

Yeah, I was watching the game and there were a few no calls that hurt NO but that one was unbelievable.

It was amazing how bad it was. But the Rams did a good job taking advantage of it.

I was rooting for the Rams but that no-call bothered even me. Seriously messed up way to lose a seat at the Superbowl. I can't imagine how ****ed I'd be if I were a Saints fan.

One of the worst no-calls in NFL history.

I think the reffing has been very inconsistent this year in the NFL. Pass interference in particular. I've seen at least two or three here in the off-season that could have meant the difference in games.

I can't think of a worse call/no call in the post season ever. What I don't get is they said it wasn't reviewable because the ref said the ball was tipped which negated the PI. But I have seen the officials get together after similar plays and pick the flag because it was tipped, or throw a flag when the officials say, no it wasn't tipped.

That’s ridiculous. The NO-LA game was very poorly officiated. The NE-KC game was not.

that 'roughing the passer' call against KC wasn't also one of the all time worst calls in the history of football? I'm not saying the entire game was poorly ref'd, but that call was reffing horrible.

It was explained to me that the NFL is in the business of selling seats, commercials and branded apparel and the markets in NE and LA are greater than the markets in KC and NO. Just sayin'

for those who may not have watched the games, here are the two plays:

"roughing the passer", or as it should be called in today's NFL, "making eye contact with tom brady":

no call for pass interference, or as it should be called, "holy wtf just happened?!?!":

Horrible call, In the future it probably would make sense to allow "booth" review of call, or lack of penalty calls. It is a shame a well played game is decided this way.
On another note, The KC/NE game should allow one possession for each team in OT, or better yet, play the full 15 Minutes OT!
But I liked the jet flyover at games beginning (keeping it aviation related! :)

I was about the say the same thins @Luigi - how they missed that call boggles my mind - that wasn't just PI, that was a mugging. I also noticed the helmet to helmet on several calls involving their secondary.

    The “Roughing the Brady” call.

In the big picture it probably didn’t make that big a difference. It would have been a third and long and the KC defense was not capable of getting a third down stop last night.

I always sigh when I hear fans of my team, or someone else's team attribute a loss to officiating. Look, I'm a Washington Capitals fan, who has one of the most hated hockey players in the league on their roster.

Refs don't call what they don't see, and their perspective on the field(ice, or whatever) is very different then what we see watching broadcast TV.

My opinion on blaming officiating is that if the team is so good that they should have won the game, why did it come down to one play? When two good teams play each other, things are going to come down to essentially a coin toss at some point--one broken play, one bad bounce, or one missed call. That's just how sports works.

As far as league wants X team to win conspiracies, if this were the case, wouldn't there have been an expose' by now. I mean, NFL refs aren't paid that much; seems like a lucrative opportunity to expose the league and owners that they're fixing games.

people aren't even saying that. read the posts. we're saying "worst no-call" and "worst call". even though in the saints case it's true, it absolutely impacted the outcome of the game, that's not the discussion. it's as simple as worst call and non call. that's it.

The roughing call was wrong. But it was one of those mistakes which happen in these days of overprotecting the QB. I don't see it as anywhere near the same as what Coleman pretty much admitted was intentional pass interference - a calculated risk knowing he was beaten.

Actually I watched both games from start to finish and saw officiating incompetence in one and decent though not perfect officiating in the other. I realize that a fan of the losing team will always see things a bit different than another person will and that a hater of Brady or any player will see things through a perverted viewpoint. But I guess that's how some folks are.

Well, the roughing the passer was not a good call but from a certain angle it could easily appear to the ref that the defensive player hit Brady in the face. It was close. Besides the refs missed the interference call on that same play so in a way, it was a wash.

But there is no way that the refs in the other game should have missed the obvious pass interference call. When the ball is in flight to a receiver, at least one ref needs to be totally focused on that receiver and any contact made by the defensive player. That was a major fail and is being called the worst no call in history by many of the expert pundits.

Big difference between the two calls.

I'm really beginning to think the NFL does use the refs to guide a game one way or another.

The NFL sudden death overtime sucks, it's unfair. I know, we don't want long never ending games, so why not this:

Regular season: If it's a tie when the clock runs out, it's a tie! If neither team is good enough to win, tough schidt.

Playoffs: Adopt a system similar to college ball.
