Hi,

We live in the Bedminster area and with Trump in town there has been a tremendous amount of jet rumblings throughout the day since Friday. We didn't see this in his first term. There are always a few dufuses that violate the TFR but this is way more than that would explain.

With the conflict going on and his assassination attempts have the security procedures ramped up? I'm curious what the basic parameters are for his air coverage. Do they run CAP 24/7? In his first term we got to see a few fighter jets zipping around but this is always high altitude rumblings. Just curious!!

I doubt many, if any, here know. If they do, doubtful they would share details of Presidential protection assets or procedures on the Internet.

Probably depends on where you live relative to their holding patterns, or where they are having to do intercepts. The actual details are probably kept pretty tight.

You can't typically see the fighters, but sometimes their tanker shows up on ADS-B. I remember during the Super Bowl in New Orleans you could see a KC-135 orbiting the area at 24,000 feet the whole time. Plus there was a King Air "Sniffer" plane in the area the whole week leading up to the game.

I am not at liberty to divulge the information that you seek, but. . .

If you’re going to call someone a doofus, at least get the spelling right.
Enlighten me on how to spell the plural of duf

Purhaps you should do some research before you publicly correct someone. Though you may be smarter than Webster.

noun
doo·fus
| \ ˈdü-fəs , -fis \
variants: or less commonly dufus
plural doofuses also dufuses \ ˈdü-fə-siz \

Definition

  • slang
  • : a stupid, incompetent, or foolish person

I also doubt you have the information I’m seeking. I recently read some good advice. "Think more, post less."

Thee Inglish languidge doeth not have its owne versione of the Frenche Académie Françoise, and thairfore the lexicographers whoe compile and edite dictionarys such as Merriam-Webster longe agoe threwe uppe their handes in exasperacion and adopted a descriptivist approache. Thee terme "descriptivist" itselfe, used in this contexte, is simply a highe-sounding euphemisme that essencially means, "participacion trophe." Nice trye, they saye, and then giv you an honourable mention by listing your speling as a varient or alternat speling. Everyboddy winnes, and noe one needes to knowe that les Dufuses is actually localle vernaculer for a grimme blocke of lowe governement buildingges in the 14th Arrondissement of Paris.

The preceding was (painstakingly) written using variants and alternative spellings of every word for which M-W, Collins, OED, and other online dictionaries list such a variant or alternative. And here we can see why, in critical applications such as aviation, it's paramount that we use the cardinal spelling, doofus(es).

I also doubt you have the information I’m seeking.
Well, you sure got me there, Tom. Can't put one over on you. ;)

Back to the original thread topic-
I noticed the other day that the usual presential TFR wasn't shown over NYC yesterday evening. I alluded to that in this post: https://www.pilotsofamerica.com/community/threads/fltplan-go-not-displaying-tfrs.154318/post-3732551

I notice today that the usual DCA TFR doesn't show up. Note the image below, taken from https://tfr.faa.gov/tfr3/?page=map on 9 June, 12:22 CDT. Has there been a change to remove the large TFR that follows the president?

If so, it is a welcome development but until proven, be careful out there!

Nah, one could only hope.

FAA TFR site being broken again. And it'll get fixed just as you're about to bust thst TFR.
That's what I was thinking. It's not just the web site because the feed to at least one plight planner program shows the same data which suggests the data feed is broken.

They created a new approach at MMU just for him, with a new Missed Approach Point that avoids the TFR.

MAP "BSPUR"? So clever. They must have really been yukking it up on Blueski the day they slipped that one into publication.
