True Confessions - Share your shame

Bacon smells horrifically wrong to me.
I just read this to my wife who absolutely loves bacon and she says says there's something something horrifically wrong with you.

Also with the beer and coffee haterz.
LoL

I am not a beer guy. I'm on your side.

In two years the statute of limitations kicks in.... I'll share then...:p

I can’t swear that I always call out “gear down and welded in position”

I actually don’t mind the smell of skunks.
:vomit:
I can't judge though. I like the smell of jet exhaust. There is just something about the smell of burnt kerosene that makes me not entirely upset to be stuck behind a jet idling on the ramp.

The dividing line should be somewhere between 10:00 and noon. :)
I've got a friend who is usually seen with a large insulated beverage container in his hand, and rarely seen asleep...

Another friend: "Hey Jay, what time overnight do you switch from beer to coffee?"
Jay*: "I don't drink coffee."

(* = no, not that Jay.)

You can't drink all day long if you don't start in the morning.

I put frozen pizza back in the freezer after it's cooked to cool it down quicker.

I also eat frozen waffles still frozen.
I like to eat uncooked (well, un-warmed) hot dogs.

Hmmm… mods, what exactly is the bandwidth we’re dealing with here, before I get started?

We could start with the “normal” y’all can infer the rest.

Uh…. Hmmm… Thinking…

I think Airshows are boring.

Zima?

I hunted since the 1990s and slowed then eventually stopped a few years ago because of the killing part. I’ve now even stopped fishing. I love the outdoors and all the prep and strategy that goes into it, I love the butchering and cooking and eating. But the killing has gotten to me.

But I’m still a contract-killer…I prepare, cook, and eat meat that someone else has killed.

Shame? Probably shouldn’t be, but just being honest about how I feel around my hunting friends and family.

Don’t hate me @Racerx

No hate or even shame. I get it. Harvesting an animal isnt something I take lightly. Hopefully I don't come off as some blood thirsty nut. While I enjoy it, I also only bowhunt (unless for quail and pheasant with the dog. Grouse is still bow)as that's more fair chase than sitting and shooting a rifle 400 yards away. I have no problem harvesting no getting the big bull and "settling" for something smaller. Meat is meat, and honestly the smaller ones are better. If I happen to get a black bear, I fully intend on taking as much as I can. Legally in some states you don't have to, but that really rubs me the wrong way and is akin to legalized wanton waste.

I justify it by not buying meat that was raised only to be slaughtered. Hunting is actually a mode of conservation. But it's most certainly not for everyone.

I love the Dee Gee's. Correct spelling.

Bow hunting was the coolest. Oddly I had a dream about it last night. I might have a few more hunts in me, if bow elk or mule-deer. Last time I hunted white-tail I let everything pass…it was all about the friends and time of the season; couldn’t get myself to put the gun up to my shoulder even (so freakin weird). I remember reading and hearing about the progressive stages of hunting and I guess it’s true, just never thought I’d get there.

If you ever wanna give archery elk a go... Calling elk is an adrenaline rush like no other. Be more than willing to be a "guide". Sometimes carrying a bow through the woods is a pain when I'm calling for someone.

I think Airshows are boring.
I'm kind of with Bryan on this one. If there's something unusual (like the jet-powered glider) or a night airshow or some very rare airplane, I'm interested. But if it's just another aerobatic pilot doing aerobatic pilot things, I'm just not interested. They all look the same to me.

I'm quite sure this is because I've seen a lot of performances, and also I'm not interested in aerobatics. Certainly the pilots are amazing, no doubt about that. And somebody who DOES fly aerobatics can certainly watch a performance with a much keener eye for details that would make it interesting for them. But for me, no.

And the Blues and Thunderbirds I have seen so many times (through my time in the AF) that I'm really not interested.in them either.

After 32 years of flying, I am terrified of speaking to ATC.
You can fix that. Bite the bullet and get your Instrument Rating. You will be amazed at how it raises your confidence level, and is great practice for dealing with ATC.
