This Amelia Earhart is a lot cuter

Didn't know she left.

yawn.

Yeah, pretty much my reaction, too.

According to a friend of mine, if you watch carefully you can see the cup size go up and down after each move "out of town" and back.

First time was "working in California on special assignment for the network" or whatever, and like the Grinch, her "hearts" grew three sizes that day...

Or so he says.

Others have had "interesting" interactions with her at airports. Ground school classes (mostly skipped), etc.

And, of course, the confusion about her name, which has zero correlation to the famously lost/dead one...

I dunno what to think of her, but mostly I just ... don't bother.

Traffic reporting in DEN is a joke anyway. One dude riding around in the pool chopper shared by all the networks, passing limited data to Metro Traffic, who passes it to everyone else... and a number of data entry geeks punching in stuff to the same system from the CDOT cameras.

Then all the voices/on-air talent reading the same reports, like they didn't all get the info from the same place.

It ain't the days of Don Martin and Dick Dillon flying around town actually competing to see traffic problems from their 182s, anymore... and handling both the flying and ATC radios and the broadcasts themselves, by themselves... that's for sure.

There were once seven or eight approved "Skywatch" callsigns with DEN TRACON.

Probably could just replace all of it with the text to speech thing NOAA/NWS uses for the weather channels. Or... just use Waze and let Google handle it with real-time data to your phone.

My fave is the stupid "Mobile Weather Lab" thing the one station has, though... haha... a freaking Suburban they drive around in and show you it's precipitating, and then pop up the hatch and show you a giant TV sitting in the back hooked to a thermometer and an anemometer.

Oooh... shiny high tech. LOL

Crap, did my browser get hijacked to the GPOA?

Why are we treating a fellow aviator like a piece of meat?

It doesn't matter what she looks like unless we're dating her. And none of us are.

And we wonder why the younger female pilots get driven off the site….dang.

Don't be facetious, you know SHE'S the one going there. I don't give much credence to vanity certificate holders. She's proven to be a fraud with that seeing eye dog pc12 stunt and the Amelia debunked connection. To then wedge herself as an icon by the novelty of being a time-sensitive attractive female in a demographic of sexually frustrated middleaged men is not something I'm gonna give her a pass on, much to the wincing of the typical beta capt save a ho reaction on here.

They've given that hack awards under the pretense of such fraudulent posturing. I'm not saying she's on the level of cunning predators like the eastern bloc immigrant global girl (an accomplice to sexual assault and professional you know what) when it comes to her hackery, but her schtick is something that dilutes the effort of the few professional pilot women in civilian and military life, most of them uglier than this chick mind you and therefore without the relative benefit of sexual barter available in order to advance their position in the career.

But, would you hit it?

If she was male, how would you react?

If your answer is different, you're out of line.

You're proposing a false dynamic. Men are not the beneficiaries of sexual favor in male dominated vocations, period dot. Its a moot question. There is no equality in the first place. I'm just refutting the idea that a hack should be given a pass because she's bangable. I wont. IF I were displaying a different reaction to an ugly woman doing it, you'd have a point. But I'm not.

No. But I sure hope people weren't rating whether or not they would "do" him.

Pretty sure Nick did. The point is when you use whatever it is you use to get yourself thrust into the spotlight, expect to catch both sides of it.

I do think it's interesting that regardless of what people think of her abilities or motives, the conversation seems to degenerate toward the "I'd bang her" or "I wouldn't touch her" debate.

VERY well written post... And... 100% accurate...:thumbsup:

No, I'm not.

I suggest judging her only by her aviation. There is no legitimate "pass" nor any legitimate criticism over her looks.

If you want to criticize her piloting skills, that's fair game. But her hooters are not. Even if she did post a "hey look at me" photo (which I really think is a lot of hard-up pilots misunderstanding how a performer writes resumes -- she's in TV), the appropriate response is to ignore it.

EVERY performer who is seen on camera/stage is expected to include a photograph in a resume. It is how it is done. Even kids, and even butt ugly actors. Hell, I even had to submit one as an on-stage musician recently, even though my face was obscured by a tuba.

Some folks seem to "think" first "down below." That has no legitimacy in any professional environment except perhaps for the porn industry.

If she looked like Helen Thomas she wouldn't have been promoting herself the way she did.

She's in TV. I doubt that very much.

And even if it were true, the appropriate response is none at all.

Didn't she quit TV to go do some aviation stuff? And used her looks as part of the promoting? You never hear about some hideous beast attempting to do such things and glamour shotting herself in order to get attention for what she's attempting to do. They just go out and do it.

Sorry, if you're going to use sex to sell yourself, you can't be aghast when someone comments on your looks.

You mean like Pancho Barnes?

She wasn't exactly a "looker," but there are a lot of photos of her around.

There's a difference between having photos around and using your looks to promote your achievements that are not looks based.

Barnes did indeed try to self promote.

She wasn't successful at becoming all that famous, though she did get a good rep as a stunt pilot.

Okay, I'm now officially sorry I started this thread.

There's a big difference 'twixt appreciation and whoremongering.
You should know that any thread about, or started by, an attractive woman will go in that direction around here...

(Sigh)

As a precursor to any post, perhaps we might ask ourselves, "Would I write that about my sister?"

Seriously.

Spike, Can I please see a photo of your sister?

I kidd!!!!! :D:D:D

Does this apply if from Arkansas or West Virginia?

If my sister went and got bolt-ons, not only myself but my entire family would have great fun at her expense. Especially if she did it to keep a job in a public role.

I guess we aren't nice people. But then again, it was a race between me and my stepdad to go get her out of an abusive relationship in another State, and I feared for the idiot's life who did that to her, when my stepdad showed up on his doorstep first.

We love her, but we would make a LOT of fun of her if she did use her bolt-ons as leverage to a job. A LOT OF FUN of it. We wouldn't even defend her from others doing it, either.

I'll make a bet here... any woman willing to go through that awful surgery who knows they did it for money (a job), probably can handle any jokes. They used it to their advantage and know EXACTLY what they're doing.

Not the answer you thought you'd get?

Spike, Can I please see a photo of your sister?

Now THAT's funny right there.

Speaking of " bolt on's " for TV personalities... For years Stephanie Abrams on the weather channel was cute and simple.. Then , ( in my opinion) she started the "bolt on" thingie.......

Now she borders on looking real cheap.... IMHO...

Whatever floats her boat....

Is this the same person who "flew" around the world in a PC12, and by flew I mean had a hightime pilot do everything but pose for the pictures?

Also taking a PC12/47 around the globe is quite a bit difference compared to what her name sake did.

Don't know her personally but she did reply politely to a question I asked her on Twitter. She also has brought aviation some positive attention that's sorely needed. I say give her a break.

Don't know, but I would enjoy riding around the world in a PC12, and I would enjoy writing about it.

I would too, but I'm not resentful that she got to do it and I didn't.

Resentful? Not really.

Just not a huge fan of folks taking credit for others work.

It's like when you hear a good song, you like the artist, than find out someone else wrote the whole thing.

She didn't try to hide the fact that she had another pilot with her.
