It was a latex white, so draw your own conclusions. :biggrin: The more important thing is completely covering any exposed wood. They only go for wood that isn't painted or poorly painted. Some stains will also work, if they create a protective layer over the wood.

My bet would have been anti-fouling boat paint, but I'm both mean and not good at following directions.
 
I mentioned to the chief pilot I was taking the 182 flying Thursday and he went out to the airport Wednesday and changed the oil. That was very nice of him.

My airport just sent a letter to tenants advising of a training session we should all plan to attend regarding "storm water pollution protection procedures".
After the session we can sign up for slots to demonstrate our compliance with the audit team.
I was totally excited to attend until I remembered that I'm planning to sleep in that day, stare at the wall for 2 hours, and then do literally anything else except learn about storm water pollution protection.
Shucks! Maybe I can make it next year!

What's the nicest place you've ever been escorted out of? For me, it was the #10 Saloon in Deadwood, South Dakota. VIP TFRs are an opportunity to kick that up a notch.

Airventure. They do NOT like bicycles inside the fence, even before the show starts. Actually I think that's the only time I've ever been escorted out of a place.

I'm not sure Charlotte is better than a bar in SD. Especially if there's a VIP TFR...

Super nice club in central London. My buddy was hitting on some ladies and picking fights with their boyfriends... I tried to step in and help them when the bouncer showed up and "escorted" us both out. I will refrain to mention how recent this was.

Not exactly a nice place, but Cubby Bear in Chicago across from Wrigley Field. Circa 2008.
It was all courtesy of a belligerent drunk female friend who was picking fights with people, and bouncers assuming I was part of the mayhem b/c i was with her.
I ended up being "escorted" out (unceremoniously thrown out the side door onto the sidewalk like you'd expect to see in a cartoon).
The best part was showing up the next day to get my credit card and license, and the bouncer who literally threw my ass out was manning the door :)

Not my fault...I was a teenager, but that would have to be Robins Air Force base in the late 70's. Apparently someone convinced my parents that all you had to do to tour the base was just make up a name at the gate, and say you were visiting. That part worked fine. But, even in the late 70's, if you drive your Chevy sedan with kids in the back, on base, past the alert B-52's, you will attract attention. We got to meet some nice MPs, there was some shaking of heads and swearing, and we were escorted off base by their jeeps. (Not positive it was Robins, but it was in the south and I did get to see B-52's lined up wingtip to wingtip.)
 
To the best of my limited knowledge and recall, Robins AFB was never a SAC Base; however, it was a depot level maintenance base where they basically rebuilt "tired" airframes. They do have a really nice museum there which features a B-52 in the outside display area. It's a really nice aviation museum, and I highly recommend a visit. They even have a C-124 (an aircraft largely forgotten) in the outside display area. They also have in the indoor display area, an SR-71 and its accompanying Lockheed D-21 supersonic drone. I could go on and on about this place, but I won't ...

It may not have been Robins... Would have been maybe 1978, 1979. We were on a trip to Elberton GA for the family business. I based Robins on a Wiki search of active B-52 bases, 19th bombardment wing was supposed to be there until early 80's. A long time ago, but I remember the long wings, dark color, and engine pods of the B-52's, the annoying chain link fence between our car and the planes, my inability to get a picture with my 126 camera, and how cool - to me - it was to see the MPs and the jeeps.

I have been thrown out of a bar or two, but being tossed off the base was much more interesting. Really did get through the front gate by saying we were there to visit "Airman Smith".
 
Went up tonight to get night current and got hit by a f'in green laser, so that was fun.

FYI, I was on left base to rwy 3 @ KAAA. It came from the downtown area, which is about a mile SW of the airport. Having grown up there I knew their exact street location. I climbed & circled a couple times to see if they were stupid enough to shine me again while reporting it to STL approach. I then landed and called the cops. Filled out the FAA form later.
My Aunt and Uncle live on the north side of the airport and have been hit with a green laser while driving on the W/NW side of the airport.
