This is at least 65% @masloki 's fault

So for the last couple weeks my cell phone and my watch have not been speaking to each other. Friday I went to Verizon to see if they could solve the problem.

''Sure'', the sales person told me. ''They, for some reason, came unpaired. We can fix it in about 15 minutes for 40 bucks.''

Wait here, I have to go get my checkbook out of my car.

So I got in my car and drove home. 20 minutes later my phone and watch were communicating again.

160 bucks an hour to work on phones. I bet he expected a tip as well.

Anyone use Consumer Cellular?

You paid someone to do that?

No, I told the guy I will go to my car and get my checkbook but went home instead. I am no cell phone whizz and it took me 20 minutes to rectify the problem with no training whatsoever.

Jokes on them for the free diagnostic.

I kind of thought that, but wasn't quite sure. I really am glad that just left them hanging...

Something I just don’t get, is people who knock on locked bathroom doors. If I go and the door is locked, I assume someone is in there and go away. I’ve had people (at work) knock on the door while I’m in there and I say “come on in” which usually gets my point across.

What is the knocker hoping to gain by knocking on a locked bathroom door? Either someone is in there or they’re not. Either way they’re not getting in. I just don’t get it

I'd make some bathroom poop joke but we all know it'd be corny.

Just like a Citation on a 10-mile final, you’re supposed to give an estimated time to go.

I was nodding an agreement with you. Then it occurred me how frequently I hear various social media videos playing from the next stall over, and perhaps it's not the wildest idea in the world to let someone know that they could use a non-pooping seat while feeding their content addiction. I recall one shop telling me they had to fire a young A&P (or perhaps student A&P) because the guy would take his phone and disappear into the bathroom for like 45 minutes at a time, multiple times daily. Evidently he refused to leave his phone in his car or somewhere else more inaccessible to reduce his distraction and was subsequently shown the door.

If you're sick, go to a doctor.

My father was killed in an [non-aviation-related] accident a number of years ago. Today is his birthday and my sister just sent a photo that absolutely broke me. I haven't had something stuck in both my eyes this badly for years. Man oh man.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Glad that it sounds like you had some good memories, though.

I just realized the hangar could use a pizza oven.

Flew 8.1 yesterday. That's 23 Hobbs on the new motor. Got to meet several POAers in person which is always cool. Added SC to the map, and 3 new airports. Got to see @kyleb 's RV-10, which is beautiful. Hit up @crash7 for an IPC on the way home, and we even got to visit @Skyrys62 at his hangar. Fun day.

GFC500 is acting up. Sigh.

In what way?
I'm not even sure. I've been getting an AIRINC429 warning on the G5, but everything was working. Then I started getting "ptrim" warnings and the A/P would kick out, and the electric trim acted like it could barely pull the cable. That seems to be worst at higher altitude/low temp. Then yesterday doing an ILS in APR mode, the heading went yellow and so many warnings popped up I couldn't catch them all. Shut it off and hand flew it. We did another RNAV, and that worked fine. It also worked fine all the way home. I put a microSD in it, hopefully it logged something Garmin can work with.

At one point my trim had to get tightened up but that just showed up as it hunting for altitude at cruise. Probably not your problem.

The trim felt stiff by hand, so we spent some time adjusting it. It feels good by hand now, but the electric trim still seems to struggle with it. We also replaced the GAD-29 at Garmin's suggestion. Frustrating to spend all that money on this crap and have trouble with it. Everything worked fine before they had to replace all the servos...

At least the engine is working good.
